The money spent on this stutue can be used in several other ways, true. But the pride of having such a figure before our eyes is a constant inspiration to all citizens. He is tall leader who demonstrated unity and integrity of India.

Our state Governments doll out lot of freebies to the masses with coming back to power in mind. No body questions this.

Our age old RTC buses, MCH waste lifting vehicles are all fuming and releasing poisonous gases every day in day out. No state government replaces them but goes ahead and spend money on freebies, No on questions it.

If it is MODI, every body gets up and start blaming him. I think it is all the digital network of congress and other opposition parties who wants to take advantage of this and comment every move of his. They are trying and project every thing as anti-national, anti- hindu etc etc etc.

But as a common citizen no body should buy in to this marketing techniques of CONGRESS and MAHA GHATBANDHAN.

May be it is not good idea to spent so much on a statue. But people do make mistakes. We cannot have some one who makes every thing right and no wrongs at all.

We have to look MODI as a whole. He is the best at the current political scenario. If the citizen give in to these CONGEE campaign, you just cannot imagine what kind of government is going to be in place.

It is through us back in to the age when PMs were playing musical chairs - IK Gujral, Deva gowda, VP Singh, Chandrasekhar. i think i have covered all..

Good luck

...Never fulfilled the promises he made in 2014 election.

In fact Modi cheated India through Demonetization - allowing his own men and a few business men to convert their black money into white. Allowed them to mint money through back door in the banks.

Cheated farmers, unemployed youth, small traders, tribas by looting their land...

"Everybody makes mistakes".

True, but do you seriously believe this status is a mere "mistake" of a single individual?

It is a DELIBERATE act of a an entire GROUP of people who, over the past 5 years or more, persistently and STUBBORNLY stuck to this mis-prioritized mega-wastage.

How can that be explained or excused as "everyone makes mistakes"?

I don't think any criticism of this spending can be considered as "out-of-proportion".

What is out-of-proportion is the kind of money that has been and will be spent on this monstrosity.

And what is out of proportion is the sheer foolishness and arrogance of this govt. On one hand, this govt insists on such wasteful spending, and on the other, bullies PSUs to donate money, and the RBI to give up the reserve funds which are meant NOT to be given away.

What the CAG is doing when Public money is squandered in creating fashionable items like big statues instead of big bridges & long roads This could have been utlised for the benefit of poor farmers struggling for drop of water for their corn fields and prevent untimely death. The money spent on statue is futile since most of the people in India cherise their great heroes in their hearts & minds. Making a big statue will not sove this purpose whereas this amount could have been utilised for a greater cause. In this way there is no difference between Kim Jones & our present Government.Let the people realise the truth and raise their voice.

All wrong politics of Modi
by Jayaprakash Balan on Nov 08, 2018 11:46 AM

In his over excitement to do something and prove his stature and power to the world and opposition parties, Modi has unnecessarily spend huge money on creating a world record statue which would benefit nobody and in fact neither increase the respect for Sardar Patel or his popularity all over the world than any other leader in India. And surely this need to be investigated that when the statue didn't qualify for CSR funding how is it that money from PSUs were taken in the name of CSR. The Govt. has no right to influence the PSUs or to use the Company's money for whatever they feel. Would they have supported any infrstructure project in rural areas or would these PSUs have supported any agriculture project benefiting farmers.

Cut Pay to GovtMaadharChodhs (GMCs), Divert Money for Development
by SUPERSONIC JET on Nov 08, 2018 11:34 AM

Cut Pay to GovtMaadharChodhs (GMCs), Divert Money for Development

Nowadays many GovtMaadharChodhs (aka GMCs or 80% Gov employees) get pensions over 30K / pm, a gov peon or junior asst gets salary Rs 35K / pm, gov teacher 50k, lecturer Rs 1.5 lak, professor Rs 2 lak, etc.

I appreciate Modi's initiatives in collecting taxes--GST, Income Tax, etc--from hardworking people and businesses in the pvt sector, but what is the use if this money is paid as exorbitant salaries to 3% GMCs, of whom 80% are good-for-nothing fellows?

In pvt companies, only top 3% could be corrupt, but 97% employees have to work hard. In govt companies 80% are corrupt and / or laggard fellows.

GMC laggards, who eat up 10% GDP / yr, seldom work, but work very hard when there is scope for corruption. GMCs spend 80% time eating paan & spitting on walls, talking SexPoliticsAndNonsense, playing cards 2 hrs when lunch time is 1 hr, etc

GMCs have strong unions and often threaten nationwide strike if their exorbitant demands are not met.

Pay good salaries only to defense personnel (in active assignments); reduce salaries of GMCs to market-avg levels--stop salary revisions. Divert the money thus saved to improve primary education, English skills, healthcare and family planning among poor, SC, ST, MBCs, etc and to support poor farmers driven to suicide. HIGH SALARIES TO GMCs KILLS PATRIOTIC SPIRIT OF NON-GOVT HARDWORKING CITIZENS.

(Instead of Rs 1Lac /PM to a GMC, better pay 10k-to-10 pvt sctr hard-workers)

I visited Ayadhya a few months back and was shocked to see the conditions of Ayadhya Township. Also the Ram Lala rea was scttered with empty polythesne bags. Cannot this Govt do something to beautufy the area so that it looks at least clean. Mere singing of Lord rama temple at Ayadhya is not enough. Govt must take these measures as they are not to be rejected By Hon Supreme court

Statue of Unity

A section of media and intellectual class is giving an impression that some crime has been committed by building up a statue for Patel. Cost of statue is too small in comparison to his contribution to Modern India. All Govt. departments make adjustments in Budget Heads to commit funds for a cause. What is important is whether there was a pilferage involved? There was no such report in this case.

Andhra Pradesh divided 4 years back, there is no fullfledged capital city , Educational Institutions , Hospitals & Infrastructure facilities till date due to lack of funds.
CSR Funds from these Oil Companies can be utilized for above developmental activities fruitfully.

Sir. In a developing country like India , financial needs are enormous and resources are limited. Who is to decided priority of expenditure? Wastage for one person may be useful for others. The decision is done by authorities. In my view a major part of schemes and programs run by Govt Departments are wastage of money due to inefficiency and corruption. But can we scrap them.

ONGC has a major stake in Andhra Pradesh, esp. the Krishna-Godavari basin, but has never thought of "education and development" along the Godavari river, the way it has now doled out money for the statue in the name of "education and development along the Narmada river".

It is clear that the central govt has gone around bullying the PSU's into coughing up money for the Statue of ImpUnity, the way it is now bullying the RBI to give up surplus funds.
