Goa was different case
by on May 16, 2018 10:59 AM

Goa was different case altogether in toto.
1. MGP was part of BJP government till elections. They proactively supported BJP and personally Manohar aprrikar and offered support to form the government.
2. Larger alliance partner made Chief minister and in real sense rest of the people supported it. In Karnataka, now JD-s is literally sabotaging and exploiting the situation and congress is encouraging it by leaving the claim of CM ship. So it is the hardest insult to the mandate of people of Karnataka.
3. Goa gave just and just stable Governmnet which was by and large respecting the mandate given by people.
4. Karnataka government led by JD-S will be unstable , impotent and disrespecting and exploitative government and will betray the people in end.
5. Politically speaking, it will benefit hugely to BJP in coming national elections and even in state of Karnataka.
6. So COngress show the still less level of maturity which will cost to the country too.
7. Then, what was the soultion, solution was , either, JD-S supporting BJp, or JD-s supporting congress, or BJP forming minority government with its pros and cons.

by pk kh on May 16, 2018 10:55 AM

Its really betrayal to People of Karnataka.JDS with seat share of bjp 46.84%,Cong 35.13,JDs 17.17% Now as congress could not retain power it bent on keeping BJP away from Power.Ok if the two can forge an alliance atleast the CM should be from Congress...JDs is very mean and has given only conditional support.Mr Mustafa is right the allaince wont last long...is sure to get broken very soon.

JDS credentials
by Radhakrishnan on May 16, 2018 10:20 AM

The bane of Indian politics is what I understand from my businessman friends is that money is the solution to all problems. In the hangover of the license raj days, this has become a norm in the Country.
Now there is a visible change in that corruption in high places has come down. But regional Parties have always thrived on it and unless they go through a paradigm shift, the curse will remain with us. The UPA used the excuse of 'coalition compulsions' to allow and even indulge in corruption. That is why a single Party rule is the only way out, even if it means that there will be change of loyalty among some MLAs.

Sir
by Vikas Banga on May 16, 2018 10:19 AM

Sir I also listen your views on NDTV. I think you always talk sense.

But in this case, Sir, Please imagine had congress not offered the support to JDS, BJP would have done the horse-trading.

And We also had seen the cases of Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya. Instead of criticising the BJP, Indian Media was propagating that Congress was sleeping. And Now they are criticising Congress.

On what basis they have the mandate? They don't the have required number of seats and they don't have more votes than Congress. Reason for their winning of so many more seats with less votes creates doubts on how they were won.
