Also the earlier deal was only for plane. The current one negotiated by Parrikar includes maintenance for X years ammunition 50% offset back into indian companies. Also Reliance is not manufacturing any rafale. All are built in france. Reliance is just a offset partner. Now what Reliance is going to manufacture in offset may be a very valid question..

Why did the earlier government sign secrecy deal by Mr saint ak anthony of congress? and now blame bjp for upholding the contract. There is no secrecy in price of aircraft. it is there in public domain already. Why pappu is asking for individual / granular price which is what the contention is about. Also this secrecy thing is nothing new. Mr anthony has already done it in past several times and the proof for same is all over social media!

The secrecy deal says nothing about the price of the aircraft !
It is only about the weapons and design of the aircraft !
Nirmala Sitharaman is giving everyone a blatant lie when she suggests that the secrecy deal prevents the govt from declaring the actual per unit price of the aircraft !
And, her lie becomes all the more evident when the fact that the same BJP govt actually declared the price of the 36 aircraft as Rs 58000 crores in 2016 is taken into account !
The deal by the UPA was bogged down due to failed negotiations on the details of the final price !
Neither Dassault nor the UPA govt was willing to compromise much on their final prices and details of the terms such as TOT and support with spares (though the broad range in which the final price would be was agreed). This range was around Rs. 600 crores per aircraft (price, spare parts support, manufacture of 108 aircraft in India by HAL and TOT).
Why has there been much noise? It is Government deal with foreign Government. World might be laughing on us and on Opposition. I dedicated for Congress Party for 60 years and could not imagine I would have to hear such low class discussion for years to run On Rafale. Hindustan Times may stop printing news on Rafale and proceed ahead with meaningful news and achievements of BJP Government. I feel dismayed to write about Congress Party when who are talking were not born then. Please close this chapter & oblige. Regards. Without Prejudice.

IF this is government to government deal as these fishy or blind deshbhakts claim why secrecy, obviously Modi / Ambani have looted India in this deal upto 40 to 50 thousand crores and this is just tip of the iceberg.

The traitorous behaviour of Congress knows no bounds. It has adopted this adversarial stance because the Bofors investigation is still on. The Italian witch is acting at the behest of China / Russia or the US for various reasons which are well known in the defence circles. But the govt should stand firm. What Rahul thinks is that there will be some wheeling and dealing in the Rafale deal.But this government is an honest one unlike the previous UPA governments.If the Rafale details are revealed,our enemy countries will be more than pleased with Rahul''s penchant for revealing State secrets!
Bofor guns proved their worth during Kargil war inspite of of their being wrong doings by the earlier govt. Let us hope Rafale will also prove their worth, whether or not there is any wrong doing. Personally I don't believe that Modiji can do any thing wrong, that too when security of the country is involved.
Government is judicious.The congress and Kapil Sibbal will immediately disclose all data to Pakidtan and China.They always want a week Infia di can loot and loot without any prrjudice.
It is pretty clear that this is also another attempt to manufacture a veil of suspicion among the vulnerable about the current government. The earlier government and its supporting media had always tried this technique on several occasions against BJP and Modi in particular, even before NDA came to power.
