It's not about sparing 52 seconds
by tingu singh on Oct 30, 2017 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

Here is a hypothetical situation. Mr.Kher or his ilk come across a robber who plays the National Anthem and relieves them of their watch, wallet, gold ring. Will they keep standing to attention for those 52 seconds or try to defend their personal belongings? If they try to protect their personal belongings, I, for one, won't consider their act unpatriotic. The National Anthem or Patriotism shouldn't be forced down citizen's throat. I am a patriot to the core, but would not like to wear it on my sleeve. Indians love and respect their National Flag, National Anthem, The Indian Armed Forces, The Para Military Forces. The SC is correct in asking not to make it mandatory to play the National Anthem in cinema halls.

I agree completely. You just cannot force Patriotism down the throat of the citizens. It's like saying "Love your wife .... or else"!

Patriotism is an emotion which comes when you take pride in the Nation. I cannot muster that emotion when minorities are being killed for eating beef and rationalists are being killed for their views.

Ramesh PK , some idiots who has some wrong impression about themselves and think that they are extra ordinary intelligent with very high IQ than others and always think differently than the rest of people. This people had no guts and courage to say anything against last one decade of UPA rule.

Why i won't stand up
by Vijay Sahani on Oct 30, 2017 01:25 PM

Why I won't stand up when National Anthem is played in cinema halls?

I won't because nobody can bully me to do anything. I will stand up if I wish to and I will not stand up if I don't wish to.

Gone some comments it seems these are the people so selfish they expect others compromise for the country but they cannot give 52 seconds.these are the people who knows only their rights and freedom but in unfortunate incidence to them they expect country to help.

Why argue
by Sarath Chandra on Oct 30, 2017 12:01 PM  | Hide replies

Our country gives more freedom to people to speak out. This is the reason for so many arguments.

You people can wait for movie tickets but cannot stand for 52 seconds. It is the respect you give to your country.

At least learn from other countries. They just stand and sing loudly. They are proud of their country and anthem.

All this must come from school and family.

On August 15, we tag small tri color flag to our dress. If it falls off, most of them won't care. Some even do not see and stamp on it. I have seen people of other countries picking their flag up, how small it may be and place it where people do not stamp on them. You can call it love for their country.

I would love to know how many of these advocates have gone to Indian army?? At least in their families??? A soldier never demand anything like these..These are people who love to be in the news for wrong reasons..
Did a problem like this came up in the past? were our elders not patriots??

So you are going to watch Dirty Picture, Masti, Hate Story and many more such movies, and before the movie start National Anthem would be played. Think Think and Think.
