You should understand that even in those days, learning of the Vedas was not the domain of the Namboodiris alone; anyone interested could learn the scriptures.
Then why blame Brahmins saying that they did not impart knowledge to others?

These Namboodiris' were originally from Nambur in Andhra Pradesh , near Tenali invited by then Rajas of Travancore, as being learned scholars. As regards all learning Vedas etc., Adi Sankara was confronted by Lord Shiva as 'Chandala' that there is no difference, except the profession one pursues.

"Mahatma Gandhi visited Vaikom to support the satyagraha's leaders. He also met the regent maharani and the minor Maharaja Sree Chithira Thirunal of Travancore which resulted in the opening of roads near the temple except the eastern one to the so-called 'untouchables'."It is not the visit of Mahatma Gandhi that resulted inTEMPLE ENTRY TO ALL in KERALA.If it was because of Mahatma Gandhi he should have or could have done it earlier and elsewhere also. The people who did vaikam satyagrha etc for this are different. You need not give credit for them for that;they do not hanger for it.One need not give Mahatma Gandhi the credit for it
Everyone is born equal. I was born to Brahmin Parents, who were very pious yet taught me to be respectful to everybody irrespective of caste as each one of us is a Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya (Shreshti/Baniya), Shudra, etc. Every body cleanses himself & prays (He is a Brahmin), Every body wants to build & maintain a good physique for any eventuality (fight for self defense or for the Nation) (He is a Kshatriya), Every body wnats to make money (He is a Baniya) & Every body wants to keep his surroundings clean and does every \'so called menial\' job in his own house (He is a Shudra). According to the practical Sanatana Dharma The thinking Head (Brahmin), The strong Shoulders & Chest (Kshatriya), the stomach / earning (Baniya) & the Legs/FEET (Shudra) which are essential to carry the load (menial by no means) are all essential. To quote my Late Father \"What part of a Image/Idol of \"GOD\" do we touch for Divine Blessings ? THE LEGS / FEET - Right ! Sanatana Dharma has no place for differentiation on the basis of caste. VANDE MAATARAM ! JAI HIND !
