Is this all important????
by BInu Joseph on Oct 25, 2017 09:13 PM  | Hide replies

Dont concentrate on foolish things mentioned in the article and waste time and energy on Caste and religion, which is all man made..3000 to 4000 years back, the human race was living in jungles amongst animals. At that point in time, was there any thing of this sort like Caste and creed existing...

Open up all jobs and professions for all people. It is perfectly fine to have priests from any community as long as they are willing to do what it takes.
Also, re look at reservation system and put a date on its possible end.
We always have the other choice - create so many engineering, medical and law colleges and produce third rate engineers, lawyers and doctors and keep crying that no jobs are available. No one wants to do the jobs that are available, because there is no air conditioning you see !
Very simply put WE ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE BUT WANT EVERYTHING !!!

Problem is there but can be resolved...
by raju lonpande on Oct 25, 2017 08:08 PM

Sir,
It is the class (financial status) that matters in society more than caste. Though I fully agree that out of Roti & Beti issues, Roti is only resolved not Beti. Also problem is felt more in villages rather than cities, that is again the example of class dominance.

Great Gayatri Mantra was founded by Vishwamitr who was a King (Shatriya) later due his tapasya became Brahmaharshi. I see lot of people born to brahmin parents assuming this mantra as their exclusive ancesteral property. Valmiki who later became Brahmaharshi was a robber in the forest and his background was also unknown. People with their karma and tapasya have gone on to become Brahmaharshi

APPOINTMENT OF dalits as Priests
by jogarao s on Oct 25, 2017 05:40 PM

Sir:

The fact that the Brahmins were the analysers and researchers of the preachings or writings of Great Sages such as Valmiki, Vyasa, Dharma Vyadha etc. and Lord Krishna etc. who are not at all, who belonged by birth to other communities who are now called under various names.
Hence there is no caste division by birth.

Secondly, now that the Dalits are being elevaed, they should treat themsleves as Forward Communities and get their castes removed from the Scheduled groups.

That is the society for which we all should strive.

Birth-based caste system is fundamental to HHinduism
by MISSIONARY on Oct 25, 2017 05:38 PM  | Hide replies

Birth-based caste system is fundamental to HHinduism.

There are many people who want to dupe people saying caste in not based on birth, but in reality caste is based on four concepts: dharma, karma, varna and janma.

The moment caste system collapses, HHinduism will disintegrate.

Many people in this forum and elsewhere denounce caste system in the public, but practice it sincerely in private. There are very few people in our society, who can think outside caste system--from panka puller to President.

Caste system and HHinduism cannot be separated and changed, though I agree that Hinduism is by and large the most secular religion in the world. Birth-based caste system is fundamental to HHinduism.

From what we see and from what we read, it is clear that it is much the same among followers of other religions too !

The truest identity is class, not caste or religion !

Class is based on one's financial status, but caste is based on birth.

Yes, class is the most relevant identity. Caste and religion do not really matter all that much.

In cities with population over 2 lakhs, caste is less felt, but in smaller towns and villages where 70% population lives, caste matters a lot. If you are not from the top 3 castes, you may not get accommodation for rent and if you are a Dalit, it is nearly impossible.

and the minor Maharaja Chittira tirunal Bala Ramavarma declared the temples of Travancore open to other caste groups in 1936 !!

It would appear from this oft repeated statement that the erstwhile royals of Travancore were the ones who took the initiative for allowing such entry !!

In fact, those vermin (the Rajas and Ranis of Travancore) held on to the very last in trying to maintain status quo in terms of the traditionally very exploitative social hierarchies and succumbed only when they were convinced that they might be violently booted out of their strangleholds of wealth, prestige and power if they didnt !

A little over a decade after the temple entry declaration, in 1947, when the British drafted Instrument of Accession with its 3 choices (amalgamation into the Indian union, amalgamation into Pakistan and option to remain as an independent country) was sent to each of the more than 500 princely states, this piece of filth (Maharaja Chittira tirunal Bala Ramavarma) actually signed on the draft opting for Travancore to remain as an independent country !

He schemed with his dastardly divan, ^Sir^ C P Ramasamy Iyer, to continue to live on as Raja in his opulent palace and rule the people of Travancore in the very despotic ways bequeathed to him by his forebears!

In fact, Ramasamy Iyer was already in touch with the CIA seeking help for ensuring that Travancore remained an independent country under him and his puppet, Chittira tirunal.

However, leaders of the then Communist party of India, led by Sreekantan Nair, marched at the head of a procession of thousands of people to the palace of this gluttonous tyrant and sent him and his divan a dire warning - sign on the Instrument acceding to the Indian union (which was already being declared as a democratic republic) - or face the violent wrath of common Malayalis !

Ramasamy Iyer, even more ambitious than the vermin Raja himself to live in regal splendour at the expense of commoners, sent the royal army (armed with machine guns mounted on boats) to confront the communists in the backwaters of Alleppey and massacred hundreds of cadres who had nothing but spears with bamboo handles to fight with. This massacre, famous in Kerala history as the Punnapra Vayalar samaram, gave the communist movement a big boost in Kerala and cemented its place in the politics of the state.

2 days after the Punnapra revolt ended, communist cadre attacked Ramasamy Iyer at night in Trivandrum when he was enjoying one of the numerous opulences of royalty - a captive musical performance for him by a full strength orchestra in one of the palaces. But the sword attack fell only on his arm and he ran away injured into the darkness and fled the same night for his home town of Madras.

The very next day, the puppet Raja, realising that his divan had fled, hurriedly signed on the Instrument of Accession to the Indian union in sheer fright, saving Sardar Vallabhai Patel the trouble of forcing one more state to accede !
