TIME TO DISMANTLE THIS INCORRECT CONCEPT IS ALREADY OVERDUE.
When Jayalalithaa offered a scheme to train dalits as temple priests, the intended beneficiaries politely refused, saying they would welcome training for the IAS examinations.

Very often we seen histoy being distorted to suit the ideology of certain political ideologies which has become obsolete in the rest of the world. The appontment of first non-Brahmin tantri in Kerala was applauded by RSS. Please google - First ever non-Brahmin Thanthri apponited for Dewaswom Board temples in Kerala

Infact when this non- Brahmin Tantri - Parur Rakesh was appointed, it was opposed by the local "çomrades'. It was the local RSS folks who gave Rakesh all the support he needed

Truth might hurt. But the fact is the appointment of Parur Rakesh was opposed by the local "comrades".They even tried to physically stop him entering the temple. The local RSS people supported Rakesh.

Rakesh was first appointed as a "shanti" [ priest] in Neerikode Shiva-kshetram. Infact he was the first non-Brahmin priest to be apponted by Travancore Devaswom Board in early 1990s.. At that time the local"comrades"were opposed to his appointment. They went to court. The local RSS folks were the people in the forefront to support Rakesh. Later on Rakesh resigned from this post. Couple of years back he was appointed as the 'tantri'.

A fact is something that can be verified. It is not wishful imagination.
Now, here are the facts that you or anyone else can verify on any news portal :
Fact no 1. : Parur Rakesh was appointed Thanthri in 2013 by the Travancore Devaswom Board, a body controlled by the govt of Kerala. It was a decision of this board to appoint a non brahmin thanthri. The RSS had nothing to do with this decision. It has no representation in any of the 4 devaswom boards of Kerala.
Comment : Under the circumstances, the best it could do was to ^welcome^ this decision (as though its welcome mattered to anyone!). The RSS made a show of publicly ^welcoming^ the decision of the govt controlled devaswom board in its frantic effort to get noticed !
Fact no. 2 : The Travancore Devaswom board had a few CPM MLAs also as members in 2013. These MLAs recorded their support for appointing Rakesh as Thanthri. This is recorded in the proceedings of the boards meetings.
Comment : When CPM MLAs recorded their support in the board meetings, how can ^comrades^ oppose it ? Your wishful imagination running wild in ignorance ?
Fact no. 3 : On being appointed Thanthri, Rakesh first thanked Shree Narayana Guru for his blessings and then thanked the board for accepting his application ! This was reported by several media houses.
Curiously, Rakesh is not reported to have said even a word of thanks or acknowledgement for the alleged labours of the RSS in giving him unsolicited support !
