you cannot learn every state language
by amit agarwal on Jul 26, 2017 12:43 PM  | Hide replies

Do we have time and patience to learn all languages of our nation? but regional political parties don't allow this by creating false impression of regional pride and spreading false rumors of destroying local culture by imposing hindi language. this creates divide and rule tactic between regional population and a person from a hindi speaking state. then they resort to harassment tactics wherein hindi speaking people are targeted or boards are blackened etc. want to ask such people when they move out of home town how many people speak their language? and the value of hindi speaking can be told by someone who is working for some multi location company or you are a business house with multi location. if each and every state takes up a stand not to speak hindi then it will become very difficult for citizens to interact. by speaking hindi you are not doing favour on anyone. even if you look at hindi speaking states the hindi spoken and hindi used are different as they have regional accent and words but still they are speaking hindi. For e.g. RJ, UP, HP, CS, MP, HR, UK are all hindi speaking states but there is a difference. If all start forcing their local languages it will become impossible. I think people whose tummy is full have no other work except creating divide and rule situation indulge in running this hate campaign against hindi.

for your info. hindi is indeed imposed. in central govt. jobs - freqnently orders are given to use hindi only .. I was forced to "sign " in hindi in a central govt. job -
though sign has no language. finally i quit the job. People with mother tongue hindi are preferred for govt jobs as they can reply or write in hindi(their mother tongue) . So this hindi impostion is just to make sure that most govt. jobs are cornered by people whose mother tongue is hindi.

3 Language Formula
by Shaik Bade Saheb on Jul 26, 2017 12:40 PM

A person who speaks 2 languages is equal to 2 men. We Indians are very fortunate to learn 3 languages at school level. Even illiterates in borders of 2 or 3 different States can speak 3 languages. Under this formula Bihar and Haryana selected Telugu as 3rd language. Majority of Indians love bollywood movies, songs, tv serials, etc. But let there not be any politics. The people who advocate for the introduction of Sanskrit as national language do not follow what they preach. How many of them speak Sanskrit or teach their children the same. The South Indians should learn their mother language, English and any one North Indian language and the North Indians like Bihar and Haryana should opt for any one South Indian language.

English must be National Official Language and Hindi National-Link Language
1.      National Official Language: English & one or more Indian languages. All the official & legal documents should be issued in English, and if desired, in one or more local languages.
2.      English should be promoted more aggressively across the nation. We generally notice that in the regions where English knowledge it too low, people are more corrupt, criminal and dangerous. Examples are UP, Bihar, MP, etc. There people lack broader outlook.
3.      Advantages of English cannot be ignored. Even in USA, people of Indian origin better and high-level jobs compared to other Asians and Non-English speaking Europeans. It is because of English. For example, in NASA, many top engineers and scientists are South Indians. It is because of English.
4.      People in the South and East should be given incentives to learn Hindi, so that Hindi can become a good link language within India.

People who speak English have edge everywhere. Even in the European Union, over 1.5 million Britishers hold high jobs in outside Britain. Japan, which was a technology leader until 1985, graudally lost its momentum.

English per se does not make you prosperous, but it gives you edge over others.

Nonsensical article
by Ravi PV on Jul 26, 2017 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

Being a Kannadiga myself, I wholeheartedly agree that we should respect and accept Hindi as it is our national language. These guys (Prakash Belawadi & Nikita Puri) are looking for some cheap publicity, just ignore them.

Sanskrit should be the National Language
by Swapan Dey on Jul 26, 2017 12:13 PM

Sanskrit should be the National Language. Sanskrit should be acceptable all over India - North, East, South and West. Every school must teach Sanskrit. A time period of 5 or 10 year should be given for the language to take root in India.
