Let our fellow citizens of North listen to Pakistan radio or talk to Pakistanis;they would immediatey understand how different or the same Hindi is as compared to what Pakistan speaks in radio or in person. If information found in internet is reproduced here Rediff doesn't display it.Ask the question what is the difference between Hindi and Urdu in goggle, that will tell many facts. Our dear fellow citizens Hindi is your wealth,Just as you don't give away your wealth like money, land ,jwellery to others please don't give your wealth of to non Hindi speakers and spoil Indian unity and take India towards dismemberment

Imposition of Hindi or love for English
by anjani singh on Jul 26, 2017 05:05 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Prakash,
Yes, Hindi should be discarded of being called national language. It is not fair to impose Hindi on non-Hindi speakers. But we can love English languange to run throughout India, which is not the mother tongue of even one percent populace. Interestingly, no agitation by non-Hindi people has remarkably been against English. Because Indians can be slave of foreign entity but cannot agree to recognize their elder brother.
Now, if Hindi is not capable of being a link language for India then what language deserves that? Hindi itself is link language even in north India.
If not Hindi then why don't say simply that you want English should be national language you hate Hindi. You people love English because it is your mother tongue and your ancestors. We forget to see that this English language was imposed upon Indians with hard infliction of whips. Even today English is learnt with so much rigor if the pupil is not student of English medium school, for these people English is nothing but imposition.

First of all, shame on you for personal attacks !
India is not th end of this world !
Languages like English help us to communicate with the world outside India. I do not think that was a rocket science !

there are 190 countries in the world . do you know the reason ? . alMost , all of them are formed on the basis of one language only. even a small border province of alsace and lorraine in france did not tolerate german imposition on them. They respect their national language because they had only one language to begin with .No multi language(2/3/4 ) country has imposed one language . India in only UNIQUE country with 18 /20 languages.

Better not teach about languages to none hindi people
by R ponnabalam on Jul 26, 2017 05:03 PM

Hindi written in Devnagri script is official language. That means Hindi has or had another script and written in that NASTALIQ SCRIPT it is Urdu.Internet will tell that north Indian Hindus already had lost their native languages like Sanskrit, Brajbhasha, Kannauji, etc.Urdu was used in Mughals court in the name of Kharibholi as official language and forced on north Indian states . . So they gave a name to Udru based khariboli called Hindustani then later Hindi by 1805. some other article says Hindi had never been a separate language. Hindi and Urdu are one and the same language as for as languages go. For Our fellow citizens in North this Hindi or urdun or Urdu is their wealth,They should enjoy it as they enjoy their wealth like money , land, jwellery .They won't give those wealth to anybody and like that should not give their wealth of Hindi to others who do not want it .They can listen to Pakistan radio or talk to Pakistanis and understand what Hindi is, how the same their Hindi is from pakistann's Urdu. They better not teach non Hindi speakers about languages R.Ponnambalam

Sanskrit should be our national language
by Jayaprakash Balan on Jul 26, 2017 05:00 PM  | Hide replies

Its all about the power and since dominance of politicians from North and Hindi heartland in the Centre that Hindi is passed as the national language when actually Hindi language is not spoken by majority in India. The base of all our languages is Sanskrit which we have got from our forefathers so as per the identity of India, Sanskrit language should be the national language of India which would bond people from all corners. So, why is Sanskrit not made compulsory in all parts of India with Sanskrit being taught as the main subject in schools, colleges and all national scriptures written and printed in three languages, first Sanskrit, then local state language and then English. Imposing of whims of those in power should not be accepted.

People tend to forget the recent insult by Tarun Vijay of BJP/RSS on Black South Indians. It is clear the Hindi belt politicians want to subdue South Indians. Let North Indians learn Southern languages before preaching about Hindi. Venkaiah Naidu is just a puppet for the Northern Politicians.

Get Tourism Friendly!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Jul 26, 2017 04:25 PM

Tourism friendly nations do NOT try and impose their language on others. They try to be inclusive. If India wants to emerge as a major tourist destination, then they must welcome multiple languages. Otherwise, South Indians visiting North will find they cannot communicate with their own citizens from the North. And North Indians visiting Rameswaram, Kanyakumari or other destinations in South will find that they are unable to converse with the locals. All of this is the handiwork of politicians for their own petty gains.
