How did Hindi evolve in India?
by daniel on Jul 27, 2017 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

As Bwinde Kang refers to TOI article dated Jan 25, 2010, there is no national language in India. All are official languages. Kudos to his article here titled "Facts about official languages."

Would like to add something more. We should analyze how Hindi came into India and was imposed into India. What were the languages prior to it that were spoken in India. Thus, giving heed to the above statement, it would be rather fair to arrive at an impetus how languages evolved in India. Simply blowing mental views, that are impulsive in nature on others, is not called for. Politics is a study in itself. Hence, no politicking is needed.

Citizens in India are peace loving. Because of fewer citizens who want to impose hatred through imposition of their personal views as corporate ones would only create tension in the nation.

Let us therefore practice gentleness and love our fellow citizens.

Let us not impose our own views on others, which instigates hatred and disharmony.

Let peace prevail. Let India become a peace haven.

There are quite substantial information in internet on this.Hindi was bequeathed via Farzi, urdun urdu road. The following sentences you can get in internet."Hindi was never a separate language;Hindi and Urdu, one language in two scripts.People in N.I wanted to write their then spoken language in Devnagri script instead of in Nastaliq in 1867" ad much more.Urdu is the national language of some other country. Why should we be crazy to impose it on non Hindi people.Let the Hindi speakers speak it, enjoy it.R.Ponnambalam

Type in Google "what is the difference between Hindi and Urdu" A good amount of information will come out.The first time when I was told by a shop keeper-he was a Hindu- in some 60km from kanpur ,"We speak urdu",What bhasa you speak,"I was taken aback. Then asked one man in Kanpur and then another man in my trip in train to Lucknow the same question. Both gave the reply "NO difference".Then I checked in google R.Ponnambalam

tHE REAL PROBLEM IS NOT INMSPEAKING OR LEARNING HINDI. IT IS MAKING HINDI COMPULSORY FOR GOVT. JOBS.
THE CENTRAL JOBS RESERVED FOR LOCAL PEOPLE ISUSERPED BY HINDI SPEAKING PEOPLE BY WRITING PAPER IN HINDI. tHE 4000 JOBS RESERVED FOR MARATHI SPEAKING PEOPLE IN RAILWAYS AND 3500 JOBS RESERVED FOR KANNADA SPEAKING PEOPLE IN KARNATAKS IS FILLED BY NORTH INDIAN PEOPLE BY WRITING IN HINDI WHICH UNCINSTITUTIONAL. AFTER RAJ THAKERAYS FIGHT NOW THE MARATHIPEOPLE WRITE IN MARATI. BUT POOR KANNADIGAS NOW LOSE JOBS IN BANKS TO THIS FAKE DEGREE HOLDERS FOR HINDI S FROM NORTH.

A humble request to you to enjoy your wealth of Hindi all by you
by R ponnabalam on Jul 27, 2017 09:45 AM

Nobody has any qualms about Hindi speakers speaking Hindi. The problem is their attempted Hindi language Imperialism, imposing it on Non Hindi people. This is all the more ---- when the facts as seen in internet are that Hindi and Urdu are one and the same language but for the sprinkling of some Sanskrit words to give religion-ward tilt and that N.I. wanted to write their then spoken language in Devnagri instead of in Nastaliq in 1867. When we hear Pakistan radio or a Pakistani talk to us what is seen in internet is found perfectly correct. Our Hindi friends should enjoy the wealth of Hindi bequeathed to them by the invaders via Farzi, Urdun Urdu route all by themselves ,should not give it to other Non Hindi people just like they won't give their other wealth to anybody. This is a humble earnest request.R.PONNAMBALAM

Facts about official language!
by Bwinde Kang on Jul 26, 2017 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

Let’s not ‘wring’ facts in support of the fallacious arguments on this subject; true position is :
Refer to Gujarat High Court pronouncement : “There’s no national language in India” [Cp TOI Jan 25, 2010].
Official Language Act, 1963 : Hindi [in Devnagri script] will be the Official Language for Union Government work, with English as link language till 1965 …… later extended indefinitely! As per 2011 Census only 41.3% in India speak Hindi [UP- 92.32%,Uttrakhand- 87%, HP- 89.01%, Haryana-87.31%, Raj-90.97%, MP-87.26%, Bih-73.06%, Jhar-57.56% & Chh’garh-82.61%] Rest of country predominantly uses local languages. Incidentally, newly formed Telangana has declared Telugu and Urdu as its official languages [under Art 345 of the Constitution]. Language which is primarily a tool for effective communication cannot be simply imposed on any people; it has long been used by politicians in India to subserve latent parochial agenda.

Narendra, the komaaaaali,
by piri on Jul 26, 2017 05:51 PM  | Hide replies

now the prime mascot of those whom the writer refers to as having petty and regressive mindsets, went around crowing, bleating, braying and croaking aloud all over across non-hyndi speaking regions in India in the kyndi language.................until he was shown his place in jolting fashion by the general public in Kerala !

The komaaaaaali, always easy to be persuaded into taking foolish steps, was easily convinced by hyndi zealots to resolutely and aggressively bray out in the hyndi language in each of the southern states whenever he visited (chiefly for campaigning for his komaaaaali party).

Accordingly, he delivered each of his trademark high pitched election campaign speeches in T.N and Kerala and Karnataka in the kyndi language.

While attendance was generally thin or those who attended remained inattentive during the komaaaalis election campaign speeches in the southern states, matters turned rudely awakening when the komaaaaali, in a speech in Kerala before the 2016 assembly election there, referred to the state as Somalia !

The Kerala general public, inattentive and indifferent till then to the komaaaali, responded in kind. Po Mone Modi tweets, displaying sheer contempt for what the komaaaali said and thought, became trending on the Kerala social media.

This severe jolt (the Po Mone sneers were followed by a virtually unchanged 10.6 % vote share for the BJP in the 2016 Kerala assembly election) had an immediate effect on the komaaaali.

In his next visit to Kerala (for the inauguration of the Kochi Metro rail network), the komaaaali....................spoke in English !!

No sign of kyndi from the komaaaali !

Perhaps his advisers in Kerala, sensing that malayalees in general were rooting for the architect of the Metro, Mr Sreedharan, and not the komaaaali, told him not to use kyndi for fear of seeing their master being completely ignored by those who came for the inauguration !

And so the komaaaali went "konkrachullashhunns" (congratulations), "prrojjukt" (project), etc in his painfully delivered English speech !

Komaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaali, just go to all other states and see your brothers who migrate to other states are speaking in Hindi. If they insist on talking in their language, they will be thrown out and will have no source of Income.

i dont know why you are so keen on throwing indians out of india !! it shows your regional mentality !.. by the way, people should learn as many languages as possible ( for me its 4) but its a individual's voluntary decision. and here(TN) i have seen migrants speaking local language very well. so its horses for courses . if they need they will ..
