In terms of manual scavenging,

Gujarat is as yellow as Kerala is in this map !!

Vow !

Which means that the number of manual scavengers is very low in Gujarat !

But.......like Kerala, does it mean that open defecation is absent in Gujarat ??

As per the NSSO survey in 2015, 49 % (nearly half) of the entire population of Gujarat defecates in the open ! Whereas just 1.4 % of the total Kerala population does so !

If a similar map were to be drawn about open defecation, Gujarat would be dark red in colour compared to very pale yellow for Kerala !

Which further means that Gujaratis defecate and leave their excreta in the open for the sun, rain and wind to dispose it off !

That is Gujarat model development for you !

Do you mean to believe this data. If there is no rcruitment in scavenging in municipal/punchayat offices and construction of dry latrines are not done, it would be zero.

The states which have more number of villages - living in poverty - lesser knowledge in hygiene used to have more.

Madarchd media inciting unwanted sentiments and feelings. Raking up issues.

Why is it a national shame ?

Then nurses working in hospitals, people working in disabled person wards and dairy farms, chicken farms everything is a national shame ?

Media is a national shame in India.

Only Dalit works in this profession and no forward (manu) cast.
By the way, out of 70 years 15 years are ruled by non-congress. In few states, congress not even rules 50% but still situation is same.
Please come out from false propaganda strategy of pheku.
