Even yesteryr govts to be blamed for the agrarian crisis
by rajesh venkatraman on Dec 21, 2017 11:19 AM

The need of the hour is community farming and they will need to tieup with large MNC companies which are in the need for cotton for textiles and medical purpose. They should try to have links in major textile companies across the world and make supply arrangements rather than just selling to the govt mandi where the middle men try to fleece the farmers by buying them at very cheap price and selling them higher to the companies. The middlemen in all agri related commodities should be removed and govt must help them toget more price for their produce. also the farmers should discuss with the govt officials if need be to get contacts of hospitals or textile firms and logistics firms for transportation from fields to factories.
The govt must make logistics and store houses for agri products and commodities. so that they can sell at higher prices when demand is more. Similarly the farmers should adopt new methods to reduce the farm expenses inspite of govt giving them subsidies in all required areas like power, fertilizer, seeds etc
Why only blame the govt, even the nature plays havoc and current govt cannot be blamed as the yesteryear govts did not do much for bringing water to the region and the expenses for the present govt to bring water and create water bodies are very high and they need to spread that over years.People should come out of caste based politics and help the govt achieve its goals in record production of pulses. They should also identify the byproducts too.

This writer Syed Firdaus Ashraf is a well noted anti Modi writer since ages. Even in this article, he started off well but ended up with his old roots, making this article another of his old venom spewing work.

He is correct,Modiji has scant respect for farming communities. He is in love with big business & their camp followers in cities. This election shows the Rural economy distress which the long Throwing person had said in 2014 to doble Farm income in 5 years but it has gone down rather!!!!!!!!!!!1

Appears to be arrogance of FM/PM on sensitive issues of reforms and delinking with common man. Therefore caste factor has become main issue.

Environmental conditions in Gujarat and Himachal are entirely different, so farmers of two states cannot be in same economical condition and will have different thoughts, its basic common sense!!!

Read the article Mr common sense. The guy is talking about DeMo, crashing prices and Central govt policies. AND that farmers in whole of India are angry.
And AFTER you take away these Firdaus stories, BJP win 47 out of 109 rural seats. Is it worth writing stories about?

Everybody wants thaT FARMERS SHOULD GET REMUNERATIVE PRICE FOR THEIR PRODUCE BUTWHETHER THE FARMER WANTS THAT HIS CHILDREN SHOULD GET GOOD EDUCATION AND EQUIP HIS CHILDREN WITH TECHNICAL SKILL FOR THEIR LIVELYHOOD SO THAT DEPENDENCE OF ALL FAMILY MEMBERS OF FARMERS ARE NOT ON THE FARMING ALONE

The farmers are the most pampered lot. They dont need to pay for electricity. They dont need to pay taxes and always crib. In fact in many places farmers income are very high and are the largest buyers of jewellery. Many of them dont work hard , dont use their head in proper methods of cultivation and want to blame the government. Many also need to move out of agriculture as it is not renumerative.
