by prem srivastav on Sep 24, 2016 04:08 PM

It is very easily possible to stop water supply in steps like twisting the arm strength is applied with gradual increase to get the needed results and it will also alleviate involvement of other countries political pressure. THIS WILL ALSO GIVE TIME TO MANAGE THE EXTRA WATER IN OUR AREA

Why India is shown such helpless
by sandeep sharma on Sep 24, 2016 03:13 PM

It seems India have no option whatsoever against Pak. But Pakistan is having all the options in the world to harm India.
If Pakistan would have been in situation of India, they might have broke this agreement long ago.
But India can't, because the responsibility to maintain world peace is entirely on India.

Best to divert at shortest possible time
by rajesh venkatraman on Sep 24, 2016 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

Send in all the machinery required from other state to the Kashmir region and divert the water in next 2 yrs flat, we have the tech to cut the rocks and difficult terrain. simple put cement pipes all round to divert the water, give orders to all the cement companies to get this done. and simultaneously get the infra required in other states and get it interconnected atleast the northern states would have greenery in their fields, give some limted amount of water to pak for their drinking purpose and some for irrigation and not all. Send water trains and fill it in other areas or nearby states where water is insufficient for drinking purpose.
Lets get started and see how many yrs it would take and hope the futire govt would not stop saying it was by a diff govt. esp congress woul not like to take over and hurt pak

Giving suggestion is easy but doing it practically is a big task. From where will you get money to do all that you suggested? PM is spending all on his foreign trips. The rest goes into teh coffers of the politicians.

Abrogate the Indus Water Treaty
by bappaditya gupta on Sep 24, 2016 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

Stop being apologists for Pakistan. This was one of the many gifts from Nehru to the nation. Just imagine giving away 80.52% of the water to Pakistan for whom his blood bled all through his life. It is time we see through Nehru's nefarious designs. Without mutual respect, we cannot have a one way treaty to facilitate Pakistan with more than 80% water from the six rivers flowing into Pakistan. We need this water for south Kashmir as well. We need to abrogate it ASAP till Pakistan respects our sentiments. Once Pakistan falls in line only then can we revisit the treaty to suit our requirements.

Nehru was thinking on an all win win situation. What you suggest is that you are right and others are wrong

Win win means 50-50 not 80-20, nehru's acheivments are well known and people of pakisatan shall be very proud of him. But treaties have to be respected without undermining our nations priorities.

Idiot, read history before braying out.

On second thoughts, why not approach the ICHR (know what it is ???) and ask them to change history textbooks to read that L B Shastri was killed by the Nehru family ??

It wont be difficult, will it ?

After all, it is nearly 2 years now since the entire ICHR was reconstituted by Komaaaaali Modi with RSS men, right ?

Go to drawing board
by sameer pandita on Sep 24, 2016 02:33 PM

Go to drawing board and divert these rivers through canals over next 20 yrs atleast India will have sufficient water . China has build a dam on Yangtze so can we . Stop water to Pakistan all together . This is the best way to avenge everything the do . Let them spend money to make canals to draw water from their friendly nations or generate water from sea .
