Will you take the responsibility if someone lose his/her/their life because of these militant? I know and understand what you are trying to convey but let me ask one question "If You have sympathy towards these coward militant/criminal why don't you take them to your home and treat like family members , thus making an effort to reduce the burden of Armymen who lose their life in that bad reason?
Thank you rediff and Jyoti Punwani for the wonderful article. We require the Industry to welcome qualified Kashmiri youth with open arms to serve the Industry and renew their faith and hope in themselves and becoming a part of the mainstream society. Ms.Jyoti Punwani has over the years written such wonderful articles. It is always a pleasure reading her articles. The problem is that in our country nobody wants to solve a problem. The status quo prevails because that is the only way the vested interests and separatists in Kashmir can continue making money and milking India.

I agree with Mr Iyer.
Everyone, except India, is getting benefitted by keeping the problems on boil. Some get secret funds, some get special packages, others get special allowances. Plus they get the benefit of 'un-inspected audits' on government expenditures, for, the auditors rarely venture out in the disturbed areas. The government projects are also a reflection of other departments. I have volunteered to 'Udaan' a special initiative of National Skills Development Corp for Kashmiri youth. I am yet to receive a reply from them to my offer of 16 August 2016.
Do away with Article 370; let them become militant and get killed. If you attack the Indians and anything that is Indian you will get back hard. India is not at your mercy; you indulged in ethnic cleansing and still pretend to be at receiving end. What do you expect from Forces when you attack them with volley of stones and wherever possible kill them. Withdraw all the subsidies; make them kneel down and this only will make them to behave.India can handle thousands of Wanis
all parts of india to see the deplorable conditions umemployment and poverty in which most of us live (but we still have the heart for the country and hope for better days and will never become violent ). Then they will realize that kashmir is a much better place to live , more potential for prosperity more previleged and pampered bcos of its unique background. Only the trouble makers and stone pelters have spoiled kashmir. so please throw them out and make kashmir the number one tourist destination of the world .
Indeed it makes a pleasant reading and we appreciate rediff for taking up an article different from their usual anti establishment type articles. While we do have lot of reservations with most Valley people we appreciate the responsibility taken up by such organizations as Sarhad. I do sincerely hope that more Kashmiris come to India and prosper
'If Burhan Wani had lived in India he wouldn't have become a militant'
i agree with this statement without any IFs or BUTs.
Let us immediately declare all of J&K (as well as POK and our land given away by Pakistan to China) as an integral part of India, as per the 'Instrument of Accession to India' legally executed by Maharaja Hari Singh, ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, on 26 October 1947 which is still our possession.
Jyoti - Get your views correct... there are sympathies for family members, but the members of the family were killed by Army, got to be kidding.. they were out on the road to die n paid the price.. please do not exaggerate using sympathy or humanity... Army is not there to kill ppl.. they are there to protect n whoever comes in the way will have to be stopped... nonsense...

Aptly said. While one feels bad for their plight, Kashmiris are looked at with suspicion because of their pro-pak attitude, and rejecting India. How do you expect us to accept them?
