Damyanti Biswas, i do agree. I could hardly sleep that night after seeing Dipa not getting a bronze. She deserved at least a bronze. She is a fighter, very committed to the Gymnastic. My all best wishes, not only mine, best wishes of people of this country were with Dipa. I could not believe that she lost the battle just by a small margine (may be because of politics). Till next morning i was not believing that after such an excellent performance, Dipa could not earn a bronze medal. I checked and rechecked the news about her....... My best wishes to a great lady.....

We are proud of the performance of this gymnast at Rio. What a unbelievable performance. That too fourth place in Olympic. Tripura is a small and remote state of India. Government both state and central are not keen to provide infrastructural facilities to every state. It is not possible also. Over and above the sports governing bodies are busy to show their power and are involved in politics. In this environment our sports persons rise on their own dedicated efforts. Ministers are ready to spend billions of rupees for installing their statues and party symbols (eg. Uttar Pradesh) but not willing to spend the money for national cause. So Dipa and Lalitas are the gems of the country.
she is indeed brought laurels to the country even though she could not get a medal.look at the worst performance of all other sports not even worth talking about ...
government should pull up the socks in order to evacuate the so called rich run committees and bodies which is biggest hurdle to any nation .then comes the choosing of the players why not the poor with talent mentored under good coach and equipments sure enough will atleast say to the world they lost fighting with spirit.
its eye opening and wake up call either we check these blunders get the spirit of games into new talent with government support and run by sports professionals and no political/stardoms to be part of the game ...waste of money and time ...
Well done Dipa but please do not stop with this. The Government on the strength of this performance would give you cash and recognition but please do not rest on your laurels. The bane of this country is that the sports achievers once recognised by the Government tend to relax. Please let ur case be an exception. All the best
Every time I see Dipa, I get goosebumps. It is an extraordinary achievement. She has elevated Indian Sports to a newer height. Our Government need to promote Gymnastics in a big way. There lies our goal.
It was an excellent and hard achivement Govt should encourage and reward as gold winner. This will boast other kids/young people to take up this type event and challenge the world in tokyo. All the best.
