It would be prudent to start a fund. The Mandirs and Gurudwaras have ample funds I am sure will come forward. Forget the Government funds, which will take time and the red tape .
Can a fund be started for her, where say 100 or more rs can be contributed per individual. Even if 1% of the population contributes, we can hav 100 crores. This can then be utilized for the players.
You have already won millions of medals from the hearts of the patriotic Indians. Keep going. Wish you all the best. If finance is a problem in preparing for the Tokyo Olympics please write to us, we can organize it.
Dear Author, I just now read your write up on Deepa Kaarmakar. I could not control my tears. Particularly when you gave the example of your father\'s remark, tear came out because I also did the same as your father did. I withdrew my son 9 years old son from Sunil Gavaskar Foundation apprehending an injury since on the same ground senior Bengal team used to practice and the ball used to come in a rocket like spped from the batters net to the Kid\'s zone. The Fear had strong grip on my mind because just few days before my nephew of 16 years old left us while playing cricket and he had an head injury while fielding at shot leg. My Vabi went to shock and become a neuron patient because of the shock. I withdrew my 9 years old child from the Best Place in the world the Lash Green ground surrounded by Trees and clear sky but I could not hold on to it because of fear psychosis. He then onward started hating me which is still there in his mind and as a result He the grown up boy also lost his Golden Childhood lived in a room without having any play mate at home and as he grew up he developed similar fear of failure and very often goes to depression. I also cry and kick myself but probably this is the way it is.. To address the issue I started my own Sports Education Start up and took oath to do as much as I can ...I only pray to God that let the children of today and tomorrow play ..play as much as they can and we all put our best foot forward to create an conducive environment
I hope Shoba De reads this article and thinks twice before she comments on sportsmen.Shoba De i have a question for you. what is your rank among fellow journalists? What you serve thru the articles you write can be dished out by any novice . She thrives on raking some controversy or another? I wish Shobha De refrains from commenting on the performance of others. She , i am sure ,knows very well where the problem lies? But she picks on the hard working sportsmen/women instead.

Dear All, The real problem is whole budget sanctioned is eaten away in taking care of officialdom and only peanuts are for athletes even in the stadium of RIO this practice is not changed yet though we expect changes by next Olympiads but this is very sad story some major changes in this direction were expected right now when the Olympics are in full swing why old system of throwing all money in the name of players being wasted for officialdom to be continued in the present regime also is a big surprise and how we expect better results in next Olympics the action is needed right now.Now or never should have been the motto.
Damyanti you very rightly said and believe you me same emotions i had and still have when i was talking about the breathtaking maneuvers of our Dipa - But a part of me wept too, because if history repeats itself, she would soon be forgotten.
This is India and i, alongwith so many and probably so many more, feel pity on the Politics thats taking this Country backwards. Only Politicians Enjoy the life King size and the one who really work hard are forgotten.a
