Power of BJP was created after his leadership loss. Other wise it was Janta Dal & Congress.

1997 Lok Sabha election loss was because of him, Congress lost
by saurabh on Sep 02, 2015 07:03 PM

And bi-polar party atmosphere was created in India. BJP & Congress, otherwise only Congress till then. His failed policy and Scams (Harshad Mehta, Telecom/Sukhram) etc. led to that.

Whats big deal in selling public sector assets had he created it!
by saurabh on Sep 02, 2015 06:50 PM  | Hide replies

He just sold off public assets (opened up then closed & socialist economy)to get cash inflows in India's exchequer. Whats big deal in that! any PM could have done that. Public Sectors entities were created out of public funds enterprising without profit in mind, so easy to sell those.

It was a critical situation for the Indian economy on the verge of collapsing. But for his bold steps of selling off 'unproductive' public sector assets, pledging our soverign gold in the European market and giving full freedom to then vibrant Dr. Manmohan Singh, the finance minister (his personal choice for this important post) were the factors which turned the economy to an upward trajectory. And given the fact that he was leading a minority government at the centre, with no 'Nehru family' tag to his name, this was just excellent.

pv Narasimharao -Apar chanakya of indian economy
by sreerama on Sep 02, 2015 06:40 PM  | Hide replies

No doubt Late PM sri.PV narasimharao is Apar Chanakya of INC ,but for whom our Economy could have been worser that present crisis in Greece.Though Mr.Manmohansingh could later on won the confidence of Indian people & congress party, somehow did not inherit the skills of his Godfather PV to improve the economy when he himself was put in PM s throne, ascertaining his authority like PV.Also it was a sad fact that Manmohansingh never could repay his gratitude to PV openly for obvious reasons.ALL INDIANS SHLD SALUTE THE APAR CHANAKYA OF INDIAN ECONOMY MR PV NARASIMHARAO SCHOLAR OF MANY LANGUAGES IN RESPECT FOR SAVING INDIAN ECONOMY FROM GREECE TYPE OF ECONOMIC CRISIS.jeediguntagoa

Shri PVN Rao was a failure... Congress lost
by saurabh on Sep 02, 2015 06:33 PM

1. His leadership lost 1997 Lok Sabha election miserably.
2. It was easy to sell Public Sector Assets/open up economy in 1990s as India was more of closed & socialist economy then. Now its tough as Private equity investments and Public sector investements ahev balanced out.
3. While selling off public assets (opening up economy) people in power ate some of its stake i.e. Various scams happened like Telecom Scam (HFCL & Sukhram), Equity Scam (Harshad Mehta) etc.
People realised in the name of opening up economy Congress Party then is making thier own share cut... elections results reflected that.

PVR is great - Congress treated him badly
by srnvs san on Sep 02, 2015 06:29 PM  | Hide replies

1. PVR is a great person and should be credited with economic liberalization.

2. Congress treated PVR badly and when he died congress did NOT allow cofffin to be kept at office so that public can pay last respects to the great leader.

3. Till now Congress forgot about the great man. Only thing congress wants to do pump the glory of one family.

Saurahji,

1. Read the news archives

2. His family itself told this.

3. Name any five schemes that were names after PVNR.

He lead to creation of Bi-polar power axis in India (up-gradation of BJP at national level and downfall of Congress). Though his loss was good for country.
