In India, women have high regards, few exceptions cannot form opinion or change culture. Two things are noticed: 1. Exploitation by women to women is more comparing to men vs. women.- barring brutal rapes-no morality allow it. 2. Few women are also extortionist-who are maligning the society. How to curb it.

Very thought provoking by Shabanaji indeed! Shobana Warrier should now reply to Shabana. Instead of blaming men folk and the Government, Warrier should try to analyze the cause and effect of the happenings.

Which Indian culture has ms Warrier written against? Against the culture of treating little girls, women in general and widows as disposable dirt ..... be that in India or elsewhere. If you believe that writing against such an evil can only be done by a paid agent, you appear to have no concern for this great country! Raising a voice against rape and general apathy for women folk by each one of us, not by Ms Warrier, alone can bring so-called black-sheep to shame.

BwindeKanq, read the title carefully. Shobha Warrier says, "Is this our great culture.." squarely blaming the Indian culture, Indians in general. Just because ISIS is run by Muslim fanatics, you cannot blame the entire Muslim culture.
