Is this our great culture? A culture that treats a woman like dirt?

all film shows and documentary, and articles in press are meant for publicity , money and fame , so please stop supporting them, work in field instead preaching to stop whatever evil you observe instead of finding faults.

Dear WRiter, We indeed had a great culture in INdia which is no more in existence these days thanks to invasion of western culture. The Britishers destroyed our educational system and created division in the society. the class and caste division widened over a period of time. the under privileged stayed on the pavement, multiplied every 10 months and the ruling class (read congress and its cronies) never allowed them to come up in their life. What you expect a man who is born and brought up in the street to do? respect women? He does not have respec to his mother even, forget about respecting any other women. the higher class enjoyed life with their money and treated women as another apparatus for their enjoyment. No humanitarian treatment. No law on this country can prevent such incidents. It should START FROM HOME. Immediate task is to educate elders of the present generation. Instead of writing such non-sense go and do social services in rural India, so that they become more civilized and Khap Panchayat will be a thing of past.

Great Indian Culture
by t prasad on Mar 20, 2015 06:52 AM  | Hide replies

Our great culture is influenced by the so called kichidi. This change is becuse more Indians are going abroad to study or work and then settle in that countries. When come on holidays to India they miss their new environments and hence get their way of life herre, hence Father's day, Mother's day, Sister's day, Brother's day, Valentine;s day and so on. When they wants to get their ward married they come to india and look for the prospective candidae and this leads to a cross culture and hence this situation. More over our social system of justice had failed and it got fragmented.

You are truly an oaf, aren't you ?

Ever heard of the khap panchayats and the mighty and exploitative social apparatus they sit on and lord over - beyond the reach of law ?

Indian culture is high tolerance for big time corruption and theft by public figures, the high and the mighty !

There is little else that is relevant for the commoners and little else that makes their lives so miserable !

Nice story. When did you invent corruption free countries by the way?

All you have to do to educate yourself is to look up the numerous surveys by different agencies - public and private ones.

Make a start with those by the Transparency International.

And don't limit yourself to the headlines. Read on their survey methodologies, sample sizes, representative sampling, statistical tools used to integrate data and derive conclusions.

Obviously, such an exercise will take much longer than reading headlines that you are obviously used to and have not gone beyond!

No need to denigrate India.

Indians have long since denigrated it almost beyond redemption - not by reporting crimes or the ills of society, but by widely indulging in those crimes and ills and refusing to mend their ways !

By your logic USA is denigrating its culture by shooting school kids and attacking pregnant women.

True.

But as far as such crimes (corruption, raxpes, bonded labour, poor wages, ettc.) adversely affecting the lives and living standards of commoners, the US is no match at all for what the Indians have long since managed to do, right ?
