Excellent article, which is a known fact for quite some years, which was not focussed upon.

Equally true is the fact that elected MP-s, who are not even able to spend the allotted funds , and one wonders what / whom for they exist?

Accountability is one rare commodity,in indian context and important thing is somehow, by hook or by crook , get on to the position and forgetfully enjoy for life, is the true story which was happening since india became of its own in 1947.

Lack of accountability is simply awefull, and craving for and sticking on to personal benefits not only self but also the entire family and parivar is laughable when they just dont deserve it.

Imagining of kamaraj, rajaji, and to certain extent anna, seems to be like a dream. Have they failed to streamline the system ? or just it is so? and tamilnadu seems to be well educated state.

Many corporates ran without the central services , proved themselves very efficient, foremost being the mammoth L&T, many more to mention.

But the villages of the nation suppose to be the backbones of the nation ( M.K.GANDHI), goes without drinking water/sanitation/infra etc'.

But the civil services enriched themselves beyond ones imagination, and sometimes aweful ,only of very late they are made to answer and by and large they are free.

Can't blame the IPS, IFS ( both) and they were able to do some meaningful developmental activities in their fields.

But the IAS is one service deserves to be rejected in lock stock and ba

IAS and IPS

the message will be correct to the viewers from outside;but the writer is totally wrong on his view on IAS in particular;India is politician ruled country in which even senior IAS officer can not attend press without govt. permission;
IAS officer has to reply to the higher courts even if he is not responsible to that case as Ministers are not binding to answer the court as they are answerable to the Assembly or to Parliment as case depend.Politicians are policy makers but IAS has to follow blindly except some suggestions please note that there is no advice. They are elected to rule but IAS are selected to serve. people choice is politician but socalled educated like this author and pro-comentators are selfish less experience withn commonman always think about higher side of the society gives such coments.Everyone see that \' FOR EVERY VIEW THERE ARE MORE OPINIONS BUT HAS TO CHOSE ONE ACCEPTED BY MORE\'.

very true. infact IAS, IPS are the major origin of corruption. They are responsible of forming and implementing the policies. They actually execute the programs. Almost 70-8-% of the corruption is bcoz of these IAS, IPS. But Politicians bcoz on the top of hierarchy are blamed for everything

The article is a direct shot hitherto unread by me.I am full of praise at the hit.Thee babus have never cared who the rulers are as they isolated and insulated themselves meticulously over the last 70 years. The hatching of new breed breed carries exact or refined genetic pattern so their kind would carefully breed for another century.
All eyes towards Modiji now.

IAS recruitment only through professional exp and track record
by goldtiger on Jun 13, 2015 12:26 PM

The system of IAS exams for recruitment as IAS officers should be stopped.

Recruitment for administrative jobs should be from state administrative cadre through competitive exams, public administration experience and track record.

For professional and technical posts, there should be no IAS - all recruitment should be from experienced professionals from respective professional and technical industries.
