Please privatize the Rlys.. Please privatize.. Let the people travel in comfort and in clean coaches... Please privatize and see the sea change.
1. It should be 15,000 crores not 1,50,000 crores. 2. It is "Fourth" not Forth (at Your Bridges). 3. It is not Sixth Pay Commission but Seventh Pay Commission that is knocking at the doors. 4. Right from a gangman to a boardman (not right form a gangman)
Sheela Bhatt! Usually, such errors do not creep into her columns.
That aside, it is an excellent interview. I feel he should be brought into Govt. somehow and should be made the Minister for Railways.

This shows extreme shortsightedness with no foresight or vision by the then Rly minister,The govt is not able to differentiate between absolute needs & the luxury, rlys are required by people from all walks of life, long distance trains run on single track , need to make a to & fro double track line throughout the nation, accidents will reduce, you can introduce more trains & improve frequency, connect existing junctions to new lines, extremely good scope in the area of freight, investments must be invited from pvt co,s to build modern infrastructure at the loading/unloading points & linked to ports etc, well I can go on like this, if intentions & will combine, then, it is possible to convert rlys in to a bid profit centre hub

Govt can give nourishment to Indian Railways one time. But the IR should be sustainable. For that, IR should be protect from irresponsible politicians like Mamata Banerjee and cash-for-job like Jaiswal. The present Govt can fatten IR under Suresh Prabhu is capable to do that. But unless it is quarantine from irresponsible & corrupt politicians, it will not last long.

The Sixth Pay Commission is knocking at the door. It may take some Rs 70,000 crore plus (Rs 700 billion plus) from the system. Then, the burden of additional pensions. Where are you going to get that kind of money?. what does it say \'we are least bothered about public and services. our interest is making government employees rich. what ever happens to the public we don\'t care. Dear friends a couple of decades before people were living some how in the villges as agriculturists and agro based labourers. but now because of governments improper policies a condition has occred that other than govt employees and some private employees can live comfortably. who is bothered about broken life of villagers. Thanks
