Verry sad, we have forgotton few more name if it is Pt Madan Mohan Malviya why not Swami Vivekanand? he is much more on above then MMM. In fact it all is Politics. Congress awarded their pro and Now BJP will do all to their PRO. We should know that ' Ache din' for only BJP Pro not for all poor indians because we do not have brains, eyes, ears, so we are useless for them.
WE SHOULD NOT HUMILIATE MAHATMA GANDHI BY CONFERRING AN AWARD THAT THE GOVT. OF INDIA HAS CONSTITUTED. THE VERY FACT THAT WE REGARD HIM WITH MAHATMA IMPLIES THAT HE BELONGS TO A CLASS UNPARALLELED AND BEYOND QUANTIFICATION, FOR HE IS WORTH A MILLIONS OF BHARAT RATNA AND EVEN THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. CAN YOU EQUATE MG RAMACHANDRAN WITH MAHATMA GANDHI IN THE BHARAT RATNA CATEGORY OR BARRACK OBAMA WITH MAHATMA GANDHI IN THE NOBEL PRIZE CATEGORY? OUR MAHATMA IS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ANYONE OF THEM. SO LET US STOP EVEN MURMURING ON THIS ISSUE.
Why not Mahatma Gandhi ? Father of The Nation is a recognition beyond any human limitation of thought. Mahatma (Saint) is an order beyond any Worldly conferment. Such persons are beyond judgement by any other following or future generations. Giving Bharat Ratna is like calling GOLD as a Metal and Ganga Jal as water; though water is a content in both. Water cleanses. Gangajal purifies Mankind and liberates from Sin & Prarabdha. It is time to rise up to the persons living in our midst and accord them recognition so that more persons will emulate their great lives.

absolutely! i believe the same. Same think i feel for nobel for Mahatma. It was great that Mahatma did not get a nobel otherwise it would have equalled Mahatma Gandhi with lot of others who were not even worth comparing with him

There is no comparision between Mahatma and Ambedkar. Mahatma is Great and above all these awards. As far as Ambedkar is concerned, he is made a Mountain out of a Mole, just because he is Scheduled Caste and the Congress Party only looks at vote bank in form of SC's and Muslims.

Gandhi created a brand "Harijan" to keep the caste system alive. That is his contribution to divide the Hindu community.

i don't think many were awarded wrongly or for politics except for sachin. Nobel could have been given for undeserved people, but fortunately Bharat Ratna was always given to more deserving people, infact if you look at the list of people who got it, they actually brought respect for the award itself except on one or two occasions
