5. Beauty Vs Ugly 6. North Indians Vs South Indians 7. North-east and Eastern part Indians Vs North Indians
If she had not disclosed her South Asian or Indian ethnic origin she could have passed as an African American or an African from Ethiopia, Somalia and or South Africa. The point I am trying to make African American women had made to Miss America and Miss USA beauty contests. Nina is a common name among various ethnic communities and Davuluri hardly matters - I had never heard of it before; and no one could attach it to the Indian community.

i agree that she could have passed for a african american but those african american have to be mixed in order to look like that whereas in india we are mixed and mostly look like that for that matter priyanka chopra looks, kajol bipasha etc look like african mulatto but cause they are north indian or bengali they are free from insults where as nina being south indian has to take flak from her own brethen besides the author has missed the issue nina is being abused not because americans think she is ugly or indian but cause they think she is arab and muslim. As usual indians with their self absorbness forgot that and make it all about colour and north south
Beauty is not skin deep.. there are many 'fair' colored gals in India with bad features and dark skinned gals with stunning features.. Nina is a stunner and she doesn't have to proof this to anyone..

How could dark and black skinned Africans and South Indians wear black suits?
Pure red, black, or blue dress is not suitable for those type of skin.

The word and name COTTON is ENGLISH. In fact, the Cotton is the name of a English person.
Westeners brought Cotton plantation to India.
If you are true dravidian, you should see more churches in South India where Cotton plantations are rampant.

he is not talking about name, he is talking about using plant fiber, it can be named anything.
America should increase Visa quota. If needed, Congress should create a new visa category called P-Visa(pageant visa's), especially for South Indians.
Will talk to External affairs minister and Madam Sonia Gandhi to create a new USA Visa category that allows South Indians to participate in Miss America pageants in future.
