How will Indian community support asylum seekers
by Jay Shah on Sep 25, 2013 07:46 AM  | Hide replies

Next year Mr. Modi will be Prime Minister of India. This means that at least 1 million Indian people will seek asylum in the USA every year. How is the USA Indian community planning ahead on supporting this influx?

Indians seriously need some education
by Inzy Bhai on Sep 25, 2013 07:24 AM  | Hide replies

We Indians may be the finest doctors, engineers, mathematicians etc but we are the worst when it comes to human interaction & behavior especially in the US. The NRI' think they have descended from a different planet. They are so conscious of their color that they don't mingle with ethnic blacks & latinos. As someone who lives & works in the US I can say with a degree of certitude that they are more racist than the whites. But there are signs that this is all about to change. First most of their children are more familiar with Christianity than their native religion & are more likely to live as good Christians. The whites are token Christians only. Secondly their affinity to India is partial as they think of themselves as Americans first & then Indians which is a good thing. Lastly they are fully integrated into American society & don't have the hangups their parents hold on to which is why a Nina can win & live as a free spirited woman in the US.

We don't want "Yacub"s in India, especially not those who compare a country of immigrants (USA) with Mother India.

Catharsis
by Nirpinder Singh on Sep 25, 2013 02:58 AM

I am glad that this pageant has been cathartic for you and likely a lot of other people as well. My experience of the USA unfortunately is that Indians there are just as bigoted as the ill-informed and wrongly opinionated White Americans. My complaint against this pageant is that the winner still did not meet the Indian Standards of Beauty in terms of having to exhibit to an unnatural extent

Please do not fall for the Paki jihadi trap which scores points by turning one Indian against another.
