The english language is just a communication tool. We don't have to become english men by adopting their culture and customs along with learning the language. India as a political may not have existed before the britishers came. But the idea of bharat has existed for a very long long time. The leftists/secularists do not want to acknowledge it.
That somebody like Masani can write and speak about no Indian nation before British and crediting every success to Macaulay and his English based education illustrates that Macaulay was indeed successful in emasculating native Indian thinking and make good slaves and slave managers out of Indians. The writer never attempted to read any alternative account of India obviously and has stuck to British created and presented history. They did it because it was strategy of rulers. But, why a person of decent intelligence like Masani should keep doing it even after 65 years of Indian independence from colonialism?
Although spoken with different accents and spelt differently, English after Spanish is widely spoken language in the global scene. Desoite a very large population, the study of English is being popularised even in China as it is the widely used language in most commercial transactions. True the common man in India may not want or learn English but for anyone to deal with global contacs, English is the preferred language ( not because of Macaulay)
True that concept of india was not there. India was coined by Europeans. But bharat was there since many millenia. Bharat was there when Rama was there, Bharat was there during Krishna's time. Bharat was there during Shalivahana's time . It was there during Vikrama's time. Bharat was there during Chandraguta's time before Jesus and paigumber was born. What is bharat has been clearly defined in vishnu Purana long back , when there were only primitives in America and England. it says uttaram yat samudrasya( himaddreschaiva dakshinam varsham tad bharatam nama bharati yatra santati meaning - the land that is to the north of the sea. the land that is towards south of Himalayas. This land is called Bharat and the people living there are called Bharatee.

How to teach this to our new social sicentist? to our netas? to our Patrakartas? They think every thing from out side is good! with out second thought they obey and adopt it! They are with west direction but if you ask blame on citizen that Indian's are pro-Engilsh.Who is making policies? "Yata Raja tatha praja" They really not know how inclusive development will happen with giving thrust to local languages.
