Not joining rivers but stop all the developmental work in the Himalayan ranges, they are very fragile. The havoc in uttarakhand was because of loose mud and rocks and not just the rains. please note that if there is an earthquake of 8 Richter scale magnitude at around tehri dam in uttarakhand, definitely it will wipe off many cities including delhi from our maps. So joining rivers is not the solution.

The IAF has lost their experienced people alongwith the members of army/ITBP after saving hundreds of souls. We salute these brave men for laying their lives to save fellow citizens of the Kedarnath man made disaster. All those involved in this biggest scam should be brought to book as hundreds of innocent people have lost their lives.

What experienced people ??? The fact that IAF lost a chopper in a NOT so extreme weather pens the kind of expertise and competence of the IAF pilots..

On what basis are you saying not so extreme temperature? You cant even experience what it is like when suddenly cloud formation forms in a terrain like this. Normally, one would not have taken a call to fly but they risked their lives for the common people. If you cannot laud their efforts then atleast keep your mouth shut.

Dude if you have no idea about flying between valley and ravines, you should limit yourself to watch por_n sites on computer.

Flying in the valley, under any visibility, is hazardous flying.

Did you notice the weather forecast over the last few days for the area. Did you see how cloudy, overcast and foggy the place is. Even now chopper are flying through clouds, in between valleys.

If you want to read up on the competence of the INdian Airforce pilots you may like to read up on the comments of US AF pilots after they came for joint training with the IAF in Agra. I remember a comment disctinctly by one USAF senior officer who candidly wrote: 'When we were headed to India, we thought that we would encounter another third world AirForce. However after we saw the extent of their operational capabilities and the skills of the pilots, we realized that they are at par with any modern airforce'

Just in case it helps to educate semil literates on these boards who like to comment on the operations efficiency of the militaries of the world, in between browsing their por_n sites, you semi literates may like to read up on the results of the exercises between IAF and USAF over the past few years...those in Agra in INdia and those in Arizona and Alaska in the US.

REad up and see for yourself how the Indian Air Force performed. Then come here to expose your ignorance to public ridicule.

First the fact that US "applauds" our Air force does not mean that it is seal of approval of it being the best.US even applauds the Pak & Afghan army in the same extent.Until the governments around the worlds serve US interests it wont do finger pointings.Same goes for India.Until India serves the hegemony of the global arms trade particularly to that of those US arms manufacturers US will have nothing but praise for any Indian defence entity.

Anyone who thinks that flying a chopper in some hilly area in a moderate rain is to naive or an illetarate soul.Flying in a cloudy ,overcast and foggy condition should hardly matter as you are flying a sophisticated machine with the latest gadgets and not your car where you need to use naked eyes to cut around the corners.

IAF has a loads of long-range surveillance radars (LRSRs) and high-power radars (HPRs) which are specifically designed for hilly terrains. I would say that it is nothing but simple incompetence the crew that lead to deaths of so many innocent souls.
