We should develop our technology & infrastructure to prevent such mishap in future. why we should purchasing such helicoptors who are not tolerate bad weather, storm etc . Every year thousand crores been spent from the prime minister relief fund in this regard. Only solution to this to inter connect all rivers of india to prevent draught & flood , which was the dream of Mr Vajpaee

For your information, centralising all rivers was the dream of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

There is no point interconnection rivers. Just blindly playing with nature is of no use.
HOw about using what we already have. The ganga and yamuna are perpetually dirty and polluted beyond human use. Several 1000 crores have been spent periodically over cleaning these rivers.
HOw is interconnectin rivers going to help when we dont take care of what we already have?
as an airforce man who had flown in this very areas for 20 years, i wish to convey to all indians, that the weather over himalayas can NEVER,NEVER be predicted with gadgets and instruments. it is only the experience and a commitment towards our mother land which can make a succeful sortie. we have, neverthless never fail to rise to occasion when needed, though most of the machines are operated ,at very close to their upper limit in the performance envelope. it has been told by many foreign airforce pilots that "only indian airforce can fly like this..no other airforce would be able to do what IAF is doing in himalayas." i ,myself was on board in one of the german airforce aircraft, which came to india for "high altitude evaluation" . he refused to land in one of our ALG's (advanced landing ground)stating that he did not want to commit "suicide". it is only the guts , courage , pride and a sense of responsibility which make the IAF different from other airforces. JAI HIND.

it is highly sensitive matter goi should have high-tech offices in a suitable areas of himalaya to forecast & control such an situations.....destroying huge lives means.....????? who will be responsible/accountable in this regard..... really required nobles mind effort to survive / avoid such an accidents.....
CAN HELICOPTER CARRY WIRE AND MOTOR TO PULL LIGHT CRANE UP. AND CAN A CRANE WORK? MUCH BETTER THAN HELICOPTER WOULD BE WATER-TIGHT THICK STEEL SURFACE BOAT-HELICOPTER THAT CAN CAN STAY AFLOAT AND ABOVE WATER SURFACE TO CARRY HUGE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE DOWN THE STREAM!!!!! IT HAS SPRING LAND GEAR(air filled or springback) SO it CAN BOUNCE UP WHEN HITTING A ROCK. EVEN WHEN IT HITS WATER, NOTHING HAPPENS TO IT. ENOUGH POWER IN BOAT-HELICOPTER TO PROPEL ITSELF TO THE SIDE OF RIVER WHEN NEEDED. OK INDIAN R & D leave copying videshi designs, work on what is written above. you can still use today helicopters to fly above water ROUTE. NO NEED TO TAKE HILLY ROUTE
