Aadhar kya hota hai
by Suresh Menon on Feb 02, 2013 06:53 PM

Well I understand that Aadhar is akin to the SSN in the US. That may be printed on a card provided by the government.

That said, I have never seen any initiative from govt to educate the people and distribute the card in a time-bound manner.

UPA will use this half-baked cake as a 'card' to ask votes from people in 2014.

Humorous !

Good script to be made into a Ji Mantriji episode :) I am not surprised that every minister has his own take on the subject. They all come from the pre-computer generation like Chidambarm or Moily, or the post-computer computer generation like Jairam who derive comfort that mobile and wireless is the way to be! Dr Singh probably thought it is an avoidable nuisance, uncomfortable at unable to stop a noisy discussion, like a hapless school teacher!

keen to know what Mr Sibal the Min of Telecom and IT had to say!

ADHAR and its adhar.
by surendra tripathi on Feb 02, 2013 06:50 PM

There is no serious or sincere attempt are being taken in respect of registering people while taking their Adhar data, neither National Population Register nor the bank a/c besides other many important information as required in form to be filled in by Adhar seeking persons. The registration centers are just taking it for a earning from govt. being paid to them by concerned organization just like highly placed learned ministers in govt.

Wasting public money
by Menon.B.K on Feb 02, 2013 06:29 PM

We have an ID card like Voter ID.What is the need of Aadhar and NPR.Instead of wasting public money on this,Government should have gone for all in one ID card.Insisting for several cards is nothing but making commission out of this. Can any body in the government or the ruling party explain why this adamant stand on several ID cards?
