If it is used properly it can be everything , citizenship number, identity card, voter card(so that you can vote wherever you are,it can stop illegal immigrants ,it can check criminals by their biometric record,if on any checkpost you find someone suspect ,you can check the finfer prints and identify the person ,all criminals in jail must have aadhar card or their biometric records avl,you can find out unidentified persons ,Govt started it very well but why not confused with its full usage is not understandable ,Citizen ship number could have given and biometric record cd have stored with survey also ,its a unique tool and if govt uses it to full advantage it will be big achievement but freinds understanding indian politics is next to impossible
Cooking Gas dealers in Hyderabad have made it mandatory to have Aadhar card for getting Gas cylinders at a price of about Rs 420 per cylinders and submit it to them before 15th Feb. When it is almost impossible to get the Aadhar Card before 15th as there are very long queues and they issue tokens for only 350 peopleper day and even if you are lucky to get the token by reaching the centre at 5.30 in the morning, it will take 8 to 10 hrs to get your turn and you will have to be standing without food or water. Can the govt not issue an order that the people who already have the gas connection need not have to submit this card for getting gas regularly. If they need, they can give 6 to 8 months for submitting this proof. N.R.Srinivasan

AAdhar card will be the single biggest tool of torture for the poor as while the government in its enthusiasm is converging all its social schemes under Aadhar identity, the poor would be under pressure to use a flimsy card which may or may not arrive by post or courier (our maid has been waiting for the card for the past one year and even we placed a complaint on her behalf some months ago without any action). The flimsy card is impossible to preserve given the conditions India's poor live in. Third, the card can be stolen or deliberately taken away from the person by vested interests denying him his identity and therefore his life itself! Can anything be worse? Better survey methods, stronger public distribution system, strict policing and stringent punishments will alone ensure the social wellbeing of the poor. Aadhar should go before more time and energy is wasted. In any case the next government if it is non-congress is certain to scrap this white elephant.
First of all whose idea was this ? If the Minister or Ministry don't know about this AADHAR, perhaps this may have floated for minting money by some one - A clear loot on public money i.e. again a smell of SCAMMMMMM ???
