The most puzzling part of the episode is that everybody knows that when even parents/parents-in-law apply for visa they are being tutored how to face interviews then what is wrong in domestic servants being tutored? When US is enquiring about liquid assets in the case of education and non compliance of domestic servants laws in US are repeatedly happening what prevents US to take up the issue even beforehand?Everywhere India is a country seen as exploiter of its own people and it is even more amazing that wealthy NRIs re having vicarious pleasure in taunting middle class of India as worst abuser of human rights grabbing all Government assistance. The political class in India hide itself behind undefined middle class in shifting blame for its incapacity by political jargon like exploitation communalism etc., The political class in India never learns or will learn lessons and make it as evolving country and mature country in spite of its so called legacy of five thousand year 0ld civilization.
Why dont govt check Uttam for his and her properties. Whats IT Dept doing ? How did he got so many properties. Adarsh property certainly some thing is wrong.
This is just a small hiccup between friends. Cheers! Have a Merry Christmas. India and US believe in the same values of Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness and should easily overcome this with cool minds and sensible hearts.
Rediff is trying to trivialise the issue. It is not trying to answer a number of questions. Why does a country which destroys country after country, kills millions of people is suddenly interested in the low wage of a maid of no consequences???

Well said. We Indians worship our Bureaucrats even when breaking law. Who cares about maids? US is indeed crazy. Talking about law and order. They should learn his to break law from master Indians. Right? :-)

The maid has agreed to the salary offered and signed the contract. Total The salary is much more than the salaries of a school teacher or a college lecturer in India. In addition, there is free accomodation, free food, local transport, round trip travel; hundreds of maid will accept that post. This maid is not poor. How can she manages to pay the airfares of her husband and two children? On what ground US Embassy issued visas for he entire family when the passport of the maid is cancelled? How all the family of the maid can stay in USA and who is paying for them?

Dude, you still did not answer WHY Decyani filed a false visa application. But to hide her crime you are asking irrelevant questions.
