Deterrance against complaints of corruption.
by s kesavan on Apr 18, 2013 05:25 AM

The aim is to deter the people from raising complaints of corruption. However one side-effect of this legislation will be to trap bribe-seekers. In which case the administration will become still further slower. But, in our country, as with other legislations it will be honoued more in the breach than actual implementation.

politicians and babus ...
by rajesh kumar on Apr 18, 2013 05:24 AM

Politicians and babus sre not God to whom ordinary (mango man) gives donations. Mango man are forced to give bribe to babus and politicians to move thier files / papers etc. With this law coming into effect, no one can complain that they gave bribe else they will go to jail.
Why cant they have a whistle blower protection act to protect people who complsin. If govt wants to prevent bribery, then they should simplify and make transparent procedures and reduce paperwork. Plus pass Jsn Lokpal bill as proposed by Shri Anna Hazare ji and Right to recall elected MP / MLAs

Please punish taker not giver
by French Cuisine on Apr 18, 2013 05:09 AM

Well - we are forced to give bribes. So what can we do? When police asks bribe from you - what can u do?

With so many procedures and red tapes how can you stop incompetent/greedy politicians and bureaucrats from exploiting holes. No honest money.

IMO - no political party can stop the culture of bribes in India. It can happen only when red tape is cut.

India is a farce democracy and always will be,
Parties that dominate local political life are fiefdoms, which are literally handed down from father to son. Pre- independence, British policy of divide and rule was cunningly adopted by the mainstream political parties, bringing forever a vote bank politics on religion and caste.
The dictatorial, party high command style of influencing the elected representatives ensured that fate of the country remained under firm control of permanent few. With the ruling and the toothless opposition, just about waiting for their license to loot every 5 years with like minded corporate cronies and money powered criminals, India will forever bleed.
From preventing any change in this shambolic system, judiciary has been purposely made inept; media has been controlled and central bureau of investigation office used as tool for power wielding ruling parties.
With goons in lok sabha, semi-retired film stars in rajya sabha, India is certainly heading for a disaster, if not already.

This is when a politician like Kejriwal and a party like AAP, becomes the need of the hour. The ever expanding support base of AAP indicates that India is well and truly on course of a revolution. After 65 years if India is still known as a third world country, the upcoming generation would not take this lightly, never again.

For every bill there has to be will. And for ever law there is a loop hole. The most corrupt is anti corruption beauro. Take for example of a whistle blower.

Implement it fast
by Bharat Soni on Apr 18, 2013 02:07 AM

This legislation should be implemented as soon as possible so that corrupt politicians like Raja, Salman Khurshid, Narendra Modi, Chandrababu Naidu and Yeddy can be punished. We have seen drafts of many such legislation but none of those ever saw the light of the day. Government should try to be serious against corruption and implement this as a law.

Best part to note is that it is rightly shown on the currency note fact that the value of RS 1000 has redcued to Rs 0.
