If you can call a Gen. V K Singh a tained person what will u call the politicians like Manmohan singh and others..

The analysis you have put is totally biased .. the pettinon to review the decision on appointment of Bikram Singh was due to the facts that there were number of cases of bribery and atrocites against him and we didnt want a person with such a tained back ground to be general...

Another biased article to defame Army Chief.

Wonder how much the corrupt politicians and babus spent to defame Army chief through Media.
Lots of so called journalist will do anything to make some money ignoring media ethics and journalistic duty.

Looks like apart from Social Media driven by citizens is the only hope left to Indians.
Atleast paid journalist should leave the social media to citizen. Let them write biased articles in their print and Televisions.

Whats the solution for this problem?

Agree with your views. On TV Shukla was speaking for the General till the Congress seems to have brought him.The General exposed the rot in the system thus antogonising many in the army, beaurcracy and political field. The Media went after him declaring him guilty. Now many of the facts have revealed that the corruption in the forces was real and the General was right. The Supreme Court did not "rubbish" his case as Shukla claims but left it hanging.Who leaked the letters? Shukla instead of blaming the govt for all the rot is trying to come close to Bhikram Singh by blaming the General. In our country anyone who fights corruption, faces the same challenges from forces opposed to them.Anna and VK Singh are also victims of slander. One expected better from Shukla.

Tainted............WHO ?
by gajendra pratap singh on May 29, 2012 12:14 PM

Who is this Ajay Shukla? The same army officer turned journalist working for NDTV - which is pro Congress. If he is the same Shukla then I will advise that do not ever believe in what he ( Congress) says.

Bureaucrats have succeded
by Ravi Sinha on May 29, 2012 12:11 PM

Indian Army was aploitical, without any blemish till a decade or so ago.But our bureaucrats ruling one of the best armed forces in the world did not like this.Over the decades they saw to it that the moral of the defence forces is brought down. They think that the entire armed forces is their personal army and that they can treat it the way they want. They were aided by the corrupt politicians in their nafarious design. The result is before us- a divided army full of controversies.

very true the writer has chosen the words. "Gen V. K. Singh's tainted tenure". the writer according to me has never served in the armed forces and the publisher was too busy counting the money paid for the article to be published on the website, otherwise would have never allowed use of such words. GEN V. K. SINGH is no son or son in law of a politician to be gifted the seat of Chief Of Indian Army. Just join the forces and know what it takes to be on this coveted position. What Tainted tenure do you talk about for an officer with an impeccable record/ It's better his successor first concentrates on charges of fake encounters before other troubles.

Stupid , one-sided and biased analysis .

Problem is that we Indians now believe corruption is part of our life . Anyone raising a voice against it is labelled as crazy and unstable , whether it be Army Chief or Anna Hazare . Mr.Shukla , answer these questions : 1. Leak of Army Chief letter to Press was done by a Jt.Seceretary in MOD . Are you foolish enough to think thos person acted on his own ?? 2. Leak of Gen.Suhag's notice to Press was done by the officer himself , instead of replying to it honourably . 3. Who instigated Indian Express to run a front page article on an alleged ' coup ' ??Sorry buddy , vendetta is not from VK Singh's side , it is this rotten Govt. and our corrupt system which is trying to screw him !

Not tainted
by Kashi Gowlikar on May 29, 2012 12:09 PM

Who says his tenure was tainted? He set best example for his successors to follow. He was bold, fearless and called a spade a spade. He will be remembered in history as one one the best Chiefs of the Army the country has ever seen. The issues he boldly raised will change the course of decision making in MoD. After retirement he should join the hands with like minded people and continue fighting corruption.
