Why is the Government courting controversy, one after the other? Is it to distract people from the real issues of corruption and ineptitude? People who have lost a lot of money in the stock market/mutual funds were anticipating bold initiatives in the budget. Instead, they got an increase in service tax! The way the BSE index has gone tells the story!
An Army Top General is the best man,Who is suppose to assess the preparedness of his Army. What is wrong if he says our Army lack preparedness. We should take his words seriously. During Kargil War our Army prepardness was very badly exposed even though it was not a full scale war. I don't know what will happen during a Full Scale War. Our Men in Uniform are the Best and they need the best and latest equipments to fight. So if we close our eyes and pretend that there are no problems reality is not going to change.

I don't think he should be given an extension. Its not about V.K. Singh only But he any top most officer of our Army, they deserves atleast some respect. We cannot doubt integrity and committment of our Topmost Officer of Army

But he is courageous to discuss and at least taken steps to curb corruption sorry rampant corruption.... After Adarsh Episode --- the Army respect reached new low in Indians mind... He had courage to dispel those..........
- immediately throw this corrupt and conniving Con party out - secure our borders and internal areas (kashmir, hyderabad) from psedo secular forces - ensure free and fair elections can be held - hold elections

Why don't you ask a solider and he will tell you that he is among honest person who have ever led the army. Every solider of Indian army will testify to this fact.
This will be most unfair to sack army general without proving his guilt in connection with leakage of the letter written by him to the PM. In my opinion, the first and foremost duty of the present government to engage his entire machinery to find the actual guilt who exposed such important letter and take him to task with heavy punisgment. But government can not avoid the allegations made by army general in his letter written to the PM that the inner strength of our defence is abysmally low and in particular, the weapon and or materials of airforce of our country is 90% (can one citizen immagine?)dormat. I hope, this is not the only question of leakage of letter but it is a serious matter of the defence power of our beloved motherland. It must be probed in right direction and fact must come out.
