The general-The last hurdle for corruption
by satish kumar on Mar 29, 2012 02:57 PM  | Hide replies

General VK Singh, one of the most distinguished chiefs of the Indian Army, was all good, till the controversy of his date of birth came to light.
Today, every politician, however corrupt he may be is labeling allegations against a general who has spent his life defending the country, and living for the country compared to a coniving politician who spends his time and energy to ensure he makes money and money and more money by any means and remain in power or gain power, which ever way possible.

See the irony, a man, who should be made national hero for really aiming to cleanse the system, is being asked to be sacked, by the worst lot in public life, the politicians, of poor track record, the least.
Apart from his age row, in which he is righteously entitled as an inividual to exhaust all options as a citizen of the country, he has done everything professionally.

How can he be termed frustrated for just one decision for which he has got the right from the constitution of india.

People, there is no higher post than being Chief of Army Staff for a soldier, its doesnt really makes much of a difference, if he had 2 and half years of 3 years some months as army chief. So trying to get extension kind of blame is poor thinking not doesnt makes much of a sense.
What makes lot of sense is the general whats to fight for the Army he commands with and and every one and is willing to go to all extent possible to do which he is bound by duty to do.

I salute the General.

Yes, we must all salute such a General as V.K.Singh, considering his wonderful and blemishless track record all these years when he served the Indian Army!Somebody played foul with his age record. That should not be held against him!

Who should be blamed for the unpreparedness?
by Pulok Mukherjee on Mar 29, 2012 02:50 PM  | Hide replies

After spending years as army chief, now (just before your retirement) you reveal that our army is running short of ammunition? Did General Singh ask the government to arrange for ammunition well before it is exhausted? Was the army chief not aware of the ammunition stock?

The question of leakage of the letter to PM is serious, but more than that is the issue of irresponsibility of army chief who failed in his duties to arrange for the equipments and ammunitions in time.

Is this not a serious negligence in part of Gen. Singh as head of the Army? It not the quesction of leakage of the letter to PM, but act of responsibility of army chief to arrange for the equipments and ammunitions in time. To this effect he has failed and now putting the govt in embrassing position as a revange for his age issue.
SACK him immediatel!!!!!

I dont thing you should be writing with out knowing certain facts and procedure.

The procurement is done by Department of Defense and not by the general, for your info this are two parts under the ministery of Defense.

And the army chiefs appraise the government at all instances, regularly about the state of affairs.
Even for a common man, with the help of RTI, is not that difficult to figure out what we have procurred in last decades, and come to a conclusion that most of the equipment in the Indian Army, has out lived its life cycle.

So dont been over smart, the general has served his whole life in the army, you may not even know 100 people in your life, or even 5 people may not be willing to hear what you say, whereas the general commands a 1.2 million strong army waiting for his one word, and they are willing to die.

Stop writing non sense for the sake of writing

You foooool army chief is not responsible and authorised to purchase the equipments. This is the responsibility of Defence Ministry which is controlled by Netas and Babus and they are getting heavy perks for this. Plz study more to answer in such forums.

Sack the sick Congress Government
by karthikeyan marappan on Mar 29, 2012 02:32 PM

I appreciate the bold and patriotic move of our Gen.V.K.Singh. The corrupted civil government is trying at all the level to project the General as bad. The government has no ability to address the real problem.
Better to through this sick, corrupted congress lead government immediately.

SUPPORT GEN.V.K.SINGH FOR NATIONAL CAUSE

I HATE CONGRESS
