Until and unless Educated people (like IIT/IIM or any higher) are not entering into politics we have to digest these wortless
Railway should be given in the hands of politician of western india. This north indian illiterate, and poverty ridden politician are making mockery of the institution.
1) A true leader 2) An Honest leader 3) A true patriot 4) A gentleman with immense foresight. I don not know with what adjectives he should be adorned. Right from the fruit seller to the industrialists welcomed the budget. Even you pay Rs.5 per Km for hiring a bullock cart. Whereas the railway fare was to the contrary Rs.2.30 per Km. The first biggest joke of the century. Some populist, ill-forsighted, uneducated, hitler type leader like Mamata over the PM, FM in not attempting to increase it. Another joke of the century. IS this a government where the PM is a puppet in the hands of some woman like Mamta or an italian bar girl.

Who elected these nonsense people I was think she is smart lady in bengal politics but seems she is dumb and fool. How can she be so dumb to appoint Mukul Roy in place of Dinesh Trivedi is they are comparable and Is this Angutha Chap Didi's poster boy will deliver without raising fare railway is messed already by did herself during her tenure now again it is under him for further mess up of railways. It is fully justified fare hike after 10 years. Again this spineless PM has no role to play and show his strength that what is wrong or what is right for the country. What more can you expect from an angutha chaph CM. Don't believe me? Go to you-tube and see her address the industry forum in bengal. If you can manage to make sense out of her speech - you will learn something new about the Indian sub-continent geography as well. Hilarious stuff!!
unfortunate but it is exactly the same...railways has long been an abused department of govt. ...whoever becomes its minister assures more trains to their states...what more they even name the new set of trains in their vernacular....

I am glad there are people like Mr Dinesh Trivedi who stand by what they say or do & don't indulge in petty politics. Without going into the case for Rail Fare Hike, all will agree that the Indian Railways are in shambles & need to be put in the ICU but this ICU should not be in a Bengal Hospital where death is certain. It needs to be put into a corporate governance ICU with professionally manged team. Long ago, the Tatas had asked for the railways to be handed over to them & the nation would get twenty percent dividend which the government can spend on health & education, social welfare, defence, agriculture etc. We should force the TMC to stop murdering the national asset. An asset is useful only as long as it generates income which can pay not only for its maintenance, depreciation & future growth but also contribute something for the nation for use elsewhere.

Ashokji, Tatas, Birlas, Ambanis are shrewd businessmen who would use any organization for their profit only. They will never think about the country. Railways like Air India, although exploited for political means, support country's economy. They connect those remote places which these businessmen will never touch. Being a Govt organization, and under political pressures, Railways is able to go to interiors of the country and these branch lines are playing a vital role in connecting the rural Bharat with Urban India. There may ticketless travelers, but railways is getting good revenue through freight.
All privatization is not Gold. Take the example of Kingfisher Airlines which is on verge of closure, or Jet, Spicejet who would soon go bankrupt.
I fully agree that its illogical to keep fares static for 10 years when costs have gone up by more than double. So, further compromise on safety and facilities is inevitable. The condition of AC Chaircar and 3AC coaches has already become pathetic.

Dinesh is not playing dirty politics. He made a sensible budget, but personal ego of Mamta undid it.
Contrary to this Mamta has increased taxes in WB, including bus fare. All this is hyprocrisy.

ask these congress/MMS sponsored union wala if they are ready to give up their free tickets which railway give to them?
Dinesh could have withdrawn this perk of railway employees if he is really for bringing railways out of ICU
and minister is property of Sonia who can be manipulated, who can be made to do conspiracy against the party chief. Mr Dinesh, you shud have talked to yr party chief and if you donot agree with your party then better resign before placing the Budget.
and spineless PM who allowed and supported his minister , conspire with him and at the crisis left him alone to get humilated by mamta
