cpm

the decision of cpm to support pranab babu is a tactical and pragmatic one. for the first time in many years they broken away from dogmatism to follow a path consistent with the present day political reality. the bengal and tripura units of cpm have played a major role in this decision over riding the objection of kerala unit and small outfits in other states. prasenjit has been a champion of the dogmatist line which is not in tune with reality on the ground. the cpm decision was essentially to isolate and force the hands of mamata and they have been successful to a large extent. the logical corrollary to this move would be to go back to upa1 days when cpm would support a congress govt from the outside along with sp and bsp. if that happens, the govt at centre can do without mamata's support and can move to complete mamata's isolation. mamata has proved to be the main stumbling block for reforms within upa and if the country has to prosper she has to be checkmated at all costs.

So your analogy is that CPM has the country's economic prosperity in mind. I think you need to get your head checked.

right decision by cpim
by lalit kedia on Jun 30, 2012 10:01 PM  | Hide replies

this is a right decision since sometime political strategy is more important than only ideology. left cannot make their own govt at centre in near future since indian politics is divided on caste religion which other parties are exploiting to have electoral gain. in 2014 to make a non congress non bjp govt pranab will be crucial and left can try to involve in a third/fourth front govt.

Left (-side blind)parties are another type of divisive force. Instead of caste & religion they promote (money)class and atheism/irreligious. That too of narcissist type. Their method is cleansing of opponents - new type of Brahmin. They suspect the middle class because they think and act independently. Upper income group they target to prey upon. The economically weak(& as well lacking all other virtues) are instigated to suck or kill the other two groups. They forget that when a man attains a modicum of security he looks for freedom from other bondages and this struggle continues until he gradually attains total freedom and that is good. Our Indian heritage reminds us that we are 'AMRITASYA PUTRA' - children of Immortal Bliss - we are Divine in nature, howsoever mistake(s) we may make. The Left (-side blind) parties, on the contrary, thinks that 'we are devil in nature' and ill-treat people accordingly. Hence Left (-side blind)parties have no future in India - even if they try this type of cunning politics and brazen opportunism.

Pranav is External Affairs before. He needed it. He took it! Deal or no deal man. And we go for what we want. Go getters.

But when he came back, he saw money more importantly than legal intrinsic value of the process. US has lived on the processes for 300 years. India for 100 years only.

Livelihood vs Crash Course. What happens? Show and Tell.

When they are under no compulsion CPIM supports Pranab and opposed Dr.Kalam when it was not warranted. After Bengal moving away from public started in Kerala. No other word to describe it.

The biggest question is why Pranab Mukherjee accepted the proposition to be the president of India? What will he gain from that position? If he could have stayed until 2014 he could have been the strong contender for the PM position. I believe Sania made a deal with Pranab. She was unhappy the way the economy was going and wanted to change the finance minister, but didn't want to remove Mr. Mukherjee. She also planned to give Rahul a chance for PM in next election. It was a win-win deal for both Mr. Mukherjee and Sania.
