Misleading the public
by kuttichathan mydear on Jan 03, 2012 07:57 AM  | Hide replies

This looks like someone is writing this in the hope of influenceing opinion to do the wrong things.

If there is one person who can be proven to be un-corrupt so far in public life its A.K antony. His lifestyle, his publicly declared income/expense/savings bank balance, his kids life-styles everything speaks for itself.

Looks like someone is un-happy with the lack of kick-backs from the defence industry.

There may be many corrupt congress politicians but AK Antony is not among them.

Dear Kuttichathan,

It is not the clean image of Antony which is being talked about here. It is his inefficiency. I do admit that he is one among the few claen men in congress which is full of corrupt people. Cleanliness has nothing to do with efficience. Please understand this simple thing. His past speaks about it in volumes.

by Das on Jan 03, 2012 03:45 AM  | Hide replies

As Tehelka showed Indian army administrative that has say in weaponry selection is highly corrupt. Therefore indigenous development means that chance of getting kickback to army and politicians will, a common occurrence, from Russia and the rest of the suppliers will cease. Anthony is a rare breed.

A perceptible decline in political culture is getting reflected
by nitmohan on Jan 02, 2012 11:22 PM  | Hide replies

A perceptible decline in political culture is getting reflected in the eroding credibility of the constitutional institutions.

Attempts to safeguard politically vested interests have led to politicization of these institutions.

The increasing political interference in the functioning of these institutions and presence of pliable officials have led to a situation that people are fastly loosing faith in the system.

The tendency in the bureaucracy to stop to any extent in pleasing the political masters is picking up and we rarely find any example of upright individuals standing up to challenge this politically oriented patrimonial system.

“You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time.”.

SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

Arms dealers trying to push govt into incorporating specifcations/ technology of their machines to Govt - in some forthcoming tender !

Antony not @ fault
by biswanath roy on Jan 02, 2012 01:25 PM

miinisters read out the replies in parliament from the written replies prepared by his ministry officials. Therefore to fault Antony for misleading is incorrect.the officials of the ministry of defence who prepared the reply after coordinating & collecting the details from the various wings of defence ministry should be held responsible.
