Anthony tells what has been communicated to him by the relevant personnel in the Army. He is not an army man with any knowledge of army matters. So do not blame the Minister. All aspects of weapons etc. need to be analysed and reports given by the Army Chief and not the Minister. Anthony must have been misled by army personnel.Anthony is a man of high integrity.
Parliament has been misleading the country .Antony misled the Parliament. Atleast Antony is a clean person.The laloos many others like hime sit in Parliament loot the country and get away with murder.Nothing ever happens to them.They are never questioned.This is the utter irony of the Indian Democracy.

please dont put articles of this kind. I dont like corrupt congress ministers.But antony is an exception.he cannot mislead anyone..maybe his ministers mislead him.the title of this should change.Maybe he is incapable,but he would never mislead or cheat.if its Vylar ravi,E.Ahmmed,ramachandran,anyone else. but not Antony.please leave him alone
Do we need advanced armoury, we cannot match with China, we need preparation only for PAK, rest is N power, only solution to Chinas danger. As such no controversey.

I agree with you but not fully, Nuclear weapon is just a deterent real thng is political decision to use or not which i dont think any politician has guts for in india, reason is simple no body wants blood of milions on their hand a religious belief of every indian, where as chinese just dont care about lives of anyone including their citizens and wont hesitate to kill anyone including their own.
The title of the article has nothing to do with the crux of the story ! This is all about some specifics regarding the views of a particular set of vendors/technology
Anotny was CM of Kerala for many times. He was minister of various portpolios. Now he is minister of Defence. His wife is still working as a Teacher. His income is only his salary and his wife's salary. that is why he is not a rich person till this age.

But is he competent? Is he working only for national interest or a party interest?
The Ministry of Defence is a very lucrative moneyspinnning dept for political parties. Money is directly deposited outside the country by potential arms suppliers.
Even Manmohan Singh appears clean. But is he competent?
We need clean and competent nononsense leaders who work for national interest and not a party interest. Which is why he is there being Sonia's close confidant and also from her religion.

In india, politicians who are competent are corrupt but honest politicains are incompetent, not because they are incompetent, its just that they dont want to make compromises of their ideals.

correction. Party ideals and in Congress, you cannot express yourself as you will be suppressed and slowly get disintegrated.

One thing more where did religion come into this, I am a retired Ex serviceman and had given 32 years to this country. I never felt my religion in the armed forces, only an indian heart beat in me. Its only civilians who think like that.

One small correction: Mrs Elizabeth , wife of AK Antony works in a bank.( Canara Bank , if i am right ) She was a clerk till recently and got her promotion to officer grade after she completed a certain number of years service. Mr Antony has a house in Trivandrum (near carmel school)and that was constructed with the loan taken by his wife). It is well known that they do not have any other assets directly or indirectly(as many politicians have)!
If we may have noticed, Defence Ministry has not seen a single scam for the past 7 years - ever since AK antony took over. When the top man is honest - scams do not happen !
