There is nothing to compare . If another is wrong so it can not be put that as example. Who is wrong that needs to correct not authorize other to do wrong. Any activities which can affect/create problems to other you can not do that activities. That is actual right & freedom (under a system)for all. India is a such country where Gundas, Mafias & Culprits are living in Mauj hi Mauj. All Govt. Deptts. including Judiciary support them. All Govt. Deptts. & Judiciary are authorized Gunda. Formation of Govt. along with Judiciary is made to establish the rule of Justice by penalize the Wrong Elements. But all they support to wrong Elements which self explanatory by result of present Indian situation. Actually they are all actual Raakshas(lac time greater than Kans or Hrinyakashyap).

The question is not whether another is wrong or to justify what is happening. Rather it is to understand the underlying issues so any solutions we make actually solve something.
Often times we create draconian and ill-conceived laws and solutions and find that the problem is no better decades later.
Any rape incident is sad and shameful. Everyday many girls face this tragedy specially in rural areas and in slums. The huge protests for Delhi-incident is someway unusal and fabricated which is mainly participated by high middle-class girls and boys. It makes way to forget the other issues like corruption, black-money, poverty, un-employment, price-hike, etc. You can curb this crime but it is not possible to stop it totally.
Whoever raised the marriage age to 18, was cut off from masses, and cut off from ground reality , that is Schizophrenia. Whoever made laws that in democracy, person getting highest number of votes gets elected, even if only 30% population has voted, and the winner has polled only 15% of the votes, was not just cut off from reality i.e.Schizophrenic, but also made mockery of representative democracy. If Pseudo-Representative are going to sit in houses of democracy, then Social Laws should be made by referendum. Population can not carry the burden of this kind of constitution forever. Something has to be done , and something has to be done early to reform the situation.
Indian culture had been very rich. It held human, social, family, moral values very close to our hearts. Development, materialism & hypocritical trend has led to the erosion of cultural values, resulting in increase in crime of all sorts.

Author is correct in saying making prostitution legal, and it will decrease rape. And with western culture, in our country rape is increasing only, day by day. Many students are also involved in rape cases, and they are well educated also. We are learning bad culture of western countries and forgetting our culture.
