How claustrophobic one's thinking can be, here is one for you from Praful Bidwai. Why does rediff even allow such thoughts to be aired?

Please read up on the internet about the levels of fitness which F1 drivers need to be race-fit. It is said that a good F1 driver has as much cardio endurance as that of a middle distance runner in Olympics. Although, the efforts F1 drivers make while driving may not be apparent on television or even Live, it is undeniable that they have to maintain a high standard of fitness.
Also please do not mix up F1 & other aspects of India like politics, poverty, inflation, etc. By that logic, any/all forms of sports, sporting events (Olympics, CWG), national games should be banned.
But it doesn't work that way, does it? Each activity must be considered in it's own merit, & not compared with others.

The same can be called for fashion, high priced painting,

Wew are proud of manish Malhotra or Hussain who command the premium prices for their product.

There is nothing wrong in entering luxury market. France and Italian economy is fuelled by people buying luxury products

Dear Mr. Praful,

The way you have written this article is totally uncalled for. we never solicited yr opinion on it. it seems u wrote it out of angst or being not invited for media coverage. you should know that INDIA HAS ARRIVED. this puts us on the league of americas, europes, latin AM's & China. why we should not be Flashy, why we should not be over zealous for such a prestigious event. Afterall, we have waited 64 years for this NEW India. I m proud to eb an India. In the midst of heavy fog there is a light. We have seen corruption by the current government at every level including your Commonwealth Games, which ashamed us globally. if we pulled off such a grand event with a dash of pride, i thiink its our right. Please be positive and dont call anyone fraud. Try to put your English vocabulary, which i think is good, to something more creative for us to read with greater interest. AT the end, i would like to say THAT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, to say F1 a fraud Sport.

i Hope you ownt mind, and sorry for being impolite to you.
your true friend,
Himanshu (Bobby)

Completely agree.

Probably writer does not understand a BASIC priciple of organising a sport event. It generates a lot of revenue, both for individual and government hence fuels economy.

This amount is not PEOPLE's money which is wasted on making parks in which millions are spend on putting statues.

if exertion level is a requirement then f1 drivers are pushed to their limits
