by chintan jhunjhunwala on Mar 17, 2011 12:13 PM

wherever nuclear plants are there ,there is always a chance for a nuclear meltdown however safely made.best is to rely on solar energy.though expensive in the short term will be safe in the long run.

Nuclear Blasts
by Anand sodo on Mar 17, 2011 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

As the Tsunaami struck the Fukushima N/plant - the plant most probably went into shut down mode - but - the concrete containers were breached severely(all six - some to a greater extent than theothers)- The coolant system just could not function (even when the pumps restarted) - due to the severe leaks and damage by the Tsunami - gradually the concrete containers started falling apart thereby damaging and helping other containers(already damaged due to tsunami) to fall apart - This was well known to every one in knowledge and charge of the plant including the governments of japan, U.S, France... BUTnothing could be done - except to maintain restraint and relocate people nearby and prevent any type of a chaotic situation.... The worst had Happened - now it was and is to wait for its RESULTS - six ATOM BOMBS have exploded on one Island - No one can stop the aftermath - only reduce the chaos and ensure minimal loss to human life - and ofcourse to study, discuss and decide - the future course of NUCLEAR ENERGY- Eating Food is necessary for health BUT over eating can even KILL - SIMILARLY - Nuclear energy is also necessary but without proper safeguards? - the results are for every one to see.

Liar PM speaks one more Lie
by S Shrikanth on Mar 17, 2011 11:44 AM  | Hide replies

The PM spared no time in announcing that Indian Nuclear plants are safe.

Do we need another Supreme Court order (like CWG Scam, 2G Scam and CVC Fiasco). In all these cases he had consistently denied any malpractice and even denied that he did not know anything about it. He protected Raja, Kalmadi and Thomas for long long time before Supreme court proved him a big Liar and Cheat before the nation

Our belowed Ullu PM Manmohan bought Nuclear Rights when rest of the world stopped construction of new nuclear plants or closing down old ones. Corrupted and greedy politicians will ensure that Nuclear Plant won't come near their native homes. Kerala objected Nuclear Plants when centre planned to build in Kerala. So Kerala's(also India's) enemy Tamil Nadu cunningly agreed to place it in Tamil Nadu border which is 30Km close to Kerala capital Thiruvananthapuram in a place called Koodankulam in Kanyakumari districtn where Malayalese are plenty. So Nuclear Power for Tamil Nadu, radiation for Kerala. Karunanibdhi doesn't care if its in TN soil if its far away from Chennai. This is the state of affair in India.

Mr.LIAR, WILL CONTINUE TO SPEAK UNTRUTH EVEN AFTER SOME NUCLEAR-EXPLOSION IN ONE OF THE EXISTING OR TO BE CONSTRUCTED WITH OBSOLETE TECHNOLOGY,(SUPPLIED BY G.E.,WESTINGHOUSE,U.S.-Just to bail out their Companies/Economy,by depositing EDUCATION-FUNDS in Swiss A/c of Indian govt./politicians).

THESE LEADERS HAS NO CONCERN FOR 130 CRORES PEOPLES'LIVES.

IT IS FOR THE PEOPLE TO ORGANISE MOVEMENTS AGAINST THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW-NUCLEAR-POWER STATIONS IN INDIA, considering the poor maintenance standards of Indian Public sector companies.
REMEMBER, Bhopal.

WELL SAID-- INDIA HAS NO CAPABILITIES TO RUN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS. US STOPPED CONSTRUCTING NEW PLANTS AFTER 1979-3-MILE ISLAND DISASTER;USSR STOPPED AFTER CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT; SWISS HAS A MARITORIUM; FRANCE TOO.

DOES WE HAVE TO BELIEVE INDIAN SCIENTISTS ARE MORE ADVANCED THAN THEIR COUNTERPARTS IN THESE COUNTRIES ? I DONT BELIEVE. SAY NO TO NUCLEAR, which will annihilate the whole humankind.

Considering the ground reality in India like Terror Threats, Natural calamities and even irresponsibility and corruption. India shouldpostponed it's ambitious plans for time being and think of conventional ways to increase the capability.
