"i challenge you for your views on Shariah.

But, you need to stick to one topic at a time. I can answer about blood money if you want"

Wahaj, first of all, thank you for coming because I was feeling bored and was waiting for a baliKaBakra.

Coming to the topic, your swamiji never mentioned anything about blood money or sparing a murderer throughout his nomadic lifetime in the desert!! Beheading was the only option irrespective of the person being a fakir or a kafir!

What happened to those 7th century divine desert laws??

You are misinformed.

Blood money option is there if dependents willingly accept the compensation offered. We all know that for a murder, family would never forgive unless they are offered a fortune along with extreme display of regret.

Never forget the fact that in every modern democratic country, Head of the state can grant clemency to murderer and let him go absolutely free.

Strange that nobody questions that system, but question Shariah which atleast protects poors from continuous suffering

Bring it on Wahaj! BTW, let me reassure you that I have absolutely no ill will towards any Mus1im. I think Mus1ims are the greatest victims of radical Is1am! It is this blind adherence to the ONLY TRUE FAITH and ONLY TRUE G0D, that is in my crosshairs!

I do not know ha you mean by Radical Islam.

Most of the people branded as Radicals have been actually acting outside Islamic motivations.

In my opinion, they are The ones driven to Insanity due to their sense of Massive BRUTALIZATION.

Be it Osama, or Masood.

Do not go by their beards

Then what are people fighting? Radical Islamic beliefs that condone letting a murderer go if he plays blood money but allows public stoning or flogging for physical intimacy, denies girls the freedom to travel or atain modern education, shackling women in the oppressive burqa & polygamy and systemic intimidation, discrimination and violence. Face it, that Is1am as a religion makes huge claims to be the last and final word of God and exhorts its followers to ensure that it becomes the world's only religion. It advocates certain horrendous practices under Sharia which are against the modern liberal values that most democratic & tolerant societies accept. Is1am's teachings generally exhibit suspicion of the very idea of religion-state separation. It also exhibits a very strong dislike of other religions especially polytheistic belief systems, as well as of heretical forms of Islam. Moreover they claim that no reform or allowance for change in the scriptures is permissible, even in the light of new scientific discoveries and advent of rational thought. Nowhere else you will you find this slavish deference to all that is written in some B00K!

To put it simply, 7th century version of Is1am, is out of sync with the modern world! The Is1amic world unfortunately seems unreconciled to modernity and perhaps irreconcilable?

..by getting victim family $ 2 Million for murder of family bread earaner.

Figure should have been at least $ 100 Million.

That would have shown Shariah in decent light too

What if a someone kills a man and pays some money to his wife and walks free? What if the wife & the killer had planned it in advance? What if the man's mother objects? What about the man's children? What about justice for the man who got killed?

How can anybody justify barbarism??

Wahaj is the oly "defender of the faith" on this board. But how can one defend the ridiculous and idiotic tenets? Can any sane Hindu defend Sati or human sacrifice or Untouchability??

Mr. Jai babu don't try to act smart with ur foolish comments. The option of blood money comes only when the killing is by accident and not by any other motive as u have mentioned. And as regarding who has the right to pardon and what will the deceased person get etc. etc. please read the holy Quran and Sunnah if u really want to know and u will get all the answers but u should read it without ur tinted glasses.

Mr. Mod Yousuf-You first need to come out of your obsession with your faith. It is people like you who see the world through the hate-tinged glasses.
The civilized and egalitarian essence of Is1am has been decimated by rabid ideologies. The radical clerics hark back to an insular, radical and puritanical form of Is1am, indoctrinating many and claiming a unique identity and separate ethnicity for all Mus1ims. Many now insist on compulsory beards, veils, skullcaps, no music, no TV, etc! The Muslim ulema claim the divine right to dominate women and some puritans and their supporters want to ban music, movies, painting, sculpture, education for girls, women medical care from male doctors, etc, etc. Remember the fatwa by the Deobandi lunatics against Mus1im women working or supporting their families or the Malaysian Kazi ordering a woman to be whipped for sipping beer or women being threatened with punishment for the sin of KHILWA or declaring birthday parties & movies as Haraam?
Where will this madness end? This concept is drilled into the gullible by the ultra-orthodox clerics that unquestioned obedience and adherence to the traits of faith is the only way! Mus1ims like you are the biggest victims of Radical Is1am!

Blind Faith
by Jai Babu on Mar 16, 2011 08:34 PM  | Hide replies

This is not to hate-monger, but the blunt fact is that in today's world, Is1amic law & Sharia are blatantly unsuitable and foolish to! Polygamy, underage marriage, telephone nikah, triple talaaq, Blood Money to free killers, etc, etc are accepted by the clergy and totally illogical! A divorced female has to wait for Iddat(3 lunar months or menstrual periods) to get married while a male can jolly well marry upto 4 anytime. And the divorce settlement & maintenance! See the attitude towards women! Wondrous treatment of women under wonderful religion! The next time, someone posts bull-crap about how the rights of Mus1im women are enshrined in the sharia and by Is1am, ShahBano, Imrana, Gudiya, etc examples will suffice. Even the Mus1im clergy's opposition to contraception or family planning is based not so much on a desire for limitless breeding but a objective to prevent people from enj0ying the se xual freedom brought by birth control. Many are the women or men stoned, fl0gged/ki11ed for their independent thought on religion, science or sexuality by Is1amic radicals in Mus1im-majority countries.
Liberal and democratic societies cant accept these! It is fashionable to talk about the threat to humanity posed by AIDS, H1N1, Global Warming, Nuclear Weapons, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and many others, but I think that BLIND faith of the Is1amist variety which advocates absolute adherence to some 7th century DIVINE B00k, is one of the world's great evils!
