There is no difference between Egypt and India
by ManPasand Singh on Jan 30, 2011 04:15 PM

Corruption is rampant in India too. Corrupt nexus between politicians/bureaucrats/business houses have plundered the country. Just that Indian citizens are too tolerant and would not protest against wrongdoings. Democracy is truly in crisis in India, as citizens are not protected by law as Judiciary is corrupt too. India is turning into banana republic , which is a dangerous sign as invaders are looking for opportunities.

India needs political reform.,Taxes to regulatory authority
by Alice Janho on Jan 30, 2011 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

There should be new faces ,no one with criminal background ,proven educated qualified candidates monitored by supreme court should rule India.Corruption has tainted ruling party and new elections should be held to root out those in power who have corrupted nation,Corporate governance lasting two years with accountability and performance monitored monthly task completion and payment released only after work is good and done properly.Only Indians should rule no foreign powers should be allowed to mae decision ,no dynasty rule,no lineage should be allowed in parliament.Political reform is urgently needed or soon India will become Tunisia,Egypt or Lebanon.

Republic Day
by xxx yyy on Jan 30, 2011 07:14 AM

As usual, some of my friends and cousins greeted me on Republic Day. I asked them what a Republic was. None of them could answer properly, they confuse Democracy and Parliament with a Republic. My next question was whether anybody reads manifestos of political parties anymore. One of them, with a Master's in Technology, asked me what a manifesto is. I asked this person whether teachers in high school had at any time told them to read manifestos. The reply was in the negative. I asked what sort of citizens are you to not even read a manifesto and yet vote. Granted that no party truly follows their manifestos, but if at least the educated read them, they can question them. Does India deserve to be a democracy when most of the educated have never even read a manifesto and many have not even heard of it?
