INDIA
by NILAMADHAB JENA on Jan 26, 2011 10:24 AM

Society should give due recognition every sector of oppertunity. Talent should be recognised and it should not be choked any manner. Official secret act should be transparent. Price rise is not a 100% govt policy problem. Those work in agriculture are not get respect in society. People prefer to do any job in industry/service sector than to agriculture. Check the arable land in India. In the name of Industry, Good arable land is diverted and due to pollution arable land becomes unarable. The need of hour give recognition to talent. Socienty shopuld give respect to dignity of labour. Judiciary should take decision in two to three years.

Our India is sadly a state in decline. Terrorism and corruption are just contemporary manifestation of degradation in civility and human values.
We have read in our history how Indians conspired against Indians, it is still continuing.
I think the fever of failed states is slowly moving eastwards, probably we can vision tomorrows India in present day Pakistan

History is good but
by Pulsar on Jan 26, 2011 10:04 AM

History is good but what we need to be more aware of is not the lives of personalities that lived in the past. We need to be aware of the constitution and its spirit.

The real maker of modern India
by Pulsar on Jan 26, 2011 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

The real maker of modern India is Dr. Ambedkar, since he was the Chairman of the Constitution drafting committee. Another point to be noted is that it is also mainly due to Dr. Ambedkar that dalits are able to see the end of hundreds of years of oppression.

Constitution of India is a true copy of Universal Charter of Human Rights.. It is just cut and paste.. even the Article code is also same.

and our governance system is British Legacy and even its Law code is from pre-independence, i.e. 200 years.

We are not Modern India.. We are still British India.

Laws and constitution are different. Most of our laws are from British India and need to be changed. Yes, our constitution borrowed a lot from that of Britain and America. But that is a positive point and not a negative one.

Dr Ambedkar made a great contribution - but to single him out for all the honour is to deny the contribution made by other members of the committee who drafted the constitution.. In any case that constitution has been amended 100 times and hence it is not the same constitution - all glory to him, but do not limit it to him - this will again separate the dalits from mainstream.

If there were no constitution then there was SATI PRATHA,RAPES,GENDER DISCRIMINATION,CASTE BASED DISCRIMINATION,RELIGION BASED MURDERS which is still going on.
Girls are still killed in many states.
constituion has saved many lives in india or else in india there is open murder system in which there are No FIRs and arrests.
Wonderful Country

Notwithstanding the constitution we are still succeeding in destroying our own country through corruption, rights abuses etc. I hate to imagine the scenario without it. It would probably have been an autocracy.

same thing is happening now.May be u cant see. Women are subject to rape and murder than earlier.Terrorism has grown up.Reservations nothing but another caste descrimination. The candidates are still selected and voted on caste basis. The rich Dalit is descriminating his poor counter part. Religion descrimination has gone with Minority appeasement. There is no protection to common man.

There was a movie almost 20 yrs ago (i believe)
Amitab bachan is the hero. The story goes that amitab the hero is forced to join politics, from a honest police officer. With most of the corrupt politicians, he wins, the elections, and with admist lot of public applause, he inside the conference hall, takes a machine gun and guns down the entire politicians. The politicians referred in that movie is that of congress. With congress elimination only India will prosper.

17 qualities that distinguishes Indians from the rest
by R on Jan 26, 2011 09:25 AM  | Hide replies

1)      Most corrupt people–Politicians, bureaucrats, Police, Judiciary, Clerks, Peons, Safai karamchari, Purchase Managers, etc.
2)      Most discriminative people based on anything - religion, caste, region, sub-religion, sub-caste, gotra, Rich vs. poor, first name, second name, etc. etc.
3)      Allowed terrorism to secure votes in the name of religion, Maoism.
4)      Most unsafe, derogatory to women. Dowry. Pre-natal test and killing.
5)      Carnage on the roads–most killings on road accidents
6)      Most un-civil. We are the oldest un-civilization and continue to be un-civilized.
7)      Most uncaring. If an accident victim lies on the road, we just pass by. Golden hour is ignored.
8)      Most aggressive-road rage is an example
9)      Children often fall and die in pits, wells left un-covered by contractors.
10)      Contractors in connivance with corrupt bureaucrats do a poor quality job. Result-shabby infra.
11)      The begging mafia kidnaps kids (both boys and girls), amputes their arms and legs and send them for begging. This happens only in India.
12)      Maximum mafia culture-land mafia, parking lot mafia, rail reservation mafia, kidnap mafia, you name it and we have it.
13)      Most un-accommodating. If traffic light goes off, we crowd each other and then the traffic just stops. Impatiently, we keep honking.
14)      Most severe shortages - Water, Power, etc.
15)      Least productive. 70% of population is engaged in agriculture
16)      Most un-educated
17)      Most desperate to settle abroad

You are GREAT Mr.R. These are the Realities of India. Politicians, Businessmen & Real Estate mafia linked to political parties, Corrupted bureaucrats are the only beneficiaries of India's growth. All others are forced to spend their hard earned money panickly to survive on price rises, lack of facilities, food & nutrition. Purchasing power from peanut salaries has made the life hell for 70% of the population. Corrupted politicians & businessmen investing in basic facility developments to mint huge profits by further making difficult. Unless get out of the country, more than 60% of the people are not going to understand & enjoy the value & quality of human life.

I think Mr.R can improve the list to atleast 100 . Any problem in the world, WE HAVE IT. So many proud IDIOTS are not willing to accept these points (may be Patriotism, Religion etc). Unless we realise and accept, we are not going to improve for few more centuries. ONLY HOPE IS IN THE NEW GENERATION. LIVING IDIOTS ARE USED TO ALL THESE & CAN"T FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM. Unless people visit some foreign countries, we won't realise how much we lag behind.
