Though he was born in Karnataka, the major portion of his life, and importantly his professional life was spent out of Karnataka. I would accept he was a Kannadiga, if he had stayed in Karnataka. On this solemn occassion, do not bring regionalism. He was a great son of India.

Actually, each part of India excretes shit, be it North/South/East/West & blows it's trumpet of being the "Biggest Excretor". In the process, good souls are tormented.....

Since you are from Bhest Bhengol you will only think of negative aspects. which is why the once upon a time Most Industrialized state of India is today the garbage bin of the nation.
UNDP in its latest report on Human Dev Indices has included WB in the list of 8 most backward states of india and has stated that these states collectively have 400 million people who live in worse levels of poverty backwardness and illiteracy than the people in 25 poorest nations of Africa.

yeh it throws out NANO like unit and morales, ethics etc etc
With great respect to Mr. Joshi, I am just curious to know about something. Why we call Hindu classical artists "Pandit" and muslim artists "Ustad"? They are the master players in their own field. But these title are general title, meaning that they know everything about anything which is impossible. In that sense, Rabondranath Tagore should also be called "Pandit ji", why not, after all he was the first Asian and Indian who brought Nobel prize. Please understand that I am not disrespecting anyone. I have great respect and admiration of Joshi; he is the best vocalist in Hindustani classical music. I will miss him dearly.
We have now lost one of the greatest Jewels of north Karnataka, proud that Panditji belongs to my place. His life is full of adventures in pursuit of excellence in Music.Missing his Powerful voice yet melodious. These souls never dies as they did enough to remain in hearts of people for ever.
