A great singer and a great soul has passed on leaving a great loss to the musical fraternity. May he enjoy greater expressions of the soul in further sojourns to infinity.
Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, the doyen of Hindustani Music is no more. Though he wasa mortal as his death has shown, his immortal renderings of Abhangs, Bhajans and Raga Alapanas will always remain as treasures for the future generations , who will be transported to a world of sublime and divine music, if will be they are fortunate enough to hear them. May his soul rest in peace. The great vocalist has finally reached the golden feet of God Almighty to Whom he had paid so many musical tributes. S.Balasubramanian.
Karnataka people are indeed gifted people to have 2 classical music sect flourish in Karnataka, i.e. Carnatic & Hindustani style of Music. Eventhough deccan region is strong in carnatic style of music, where karnataka embraced both the versions with open arm.
Smt.Gangubai Hangal, Bharat Ratna Pt.Bhimsen Joshi, Panchakshari Gavayi, Enagi Balappa etc. took Hindustani music to its great height, needless to say they all belong to karnataka.
Death is only for body, Pt. Bhimsen joshi remains always through his music and always linger in our mind
