Anna Hazare

I wonder how people with out profound knowledge on democracy talks about democracy and support people like Anna Hazare. First of all don't ever compare him with great leader Mahatha Gandhi.
Who is he to whipp drunkards using his belt? did Gandhi ever say any one to beat any human even for a good cause.

Come on we are living in Democratic India not in some middle east countries or countries like Egypt, Libya etc..to cut a hand and leg of common people for theft or drinking.

today Anna hazare is beating drunkard people tomorrow another Kinna Hazare will hate people drinking Coke and Pepsi(By no way less harmful than alcohol). can he beat all people who drinks coke and pepsi? will you guys accept?

who is he to force Dalith people in his village to eat only vegetarian food and not non-vegetarian food. Can he force the same on you? will you people accept

Where will Democracy prevails under his leadership when he has not conducted Panchayath elections in his model village for the past 24 years?

There are more serious issues in India than Corruption. Why you people are not bothered about any of those issues and one fine morning you people are pretending as if you are Pure ans Holly.

Anna Hazare article of Y. Sikand
by Shaas on Sep 05, 2011 05:09 AM

What a strange article! Starting with a very strange claim that Anna's Anti-coruption drive is "anti-democratic". It shows the low understanding of democratic processes when calling hunger strike for anti-coruption "anti-democratic"?

The biggest threat to India has not changed.. It is internal!!!
by G Venkatram on Aug 30, 2011 06:03 PM  | Hide replies

Through out Indian History, the biggest challenges were never from outside and were always from inside. The moment people of India stand united for a good cause, forces against it try to foist divisiveness. It all started from the Mughals. They overran virtually every Country and fought the Crusades with Christianity. However, they found a strange religion and philosophy which was all embracing and graceful when they ventured into India. Even though when they destroyed temples, broke idols and looted temple treasures, this faith stood its ground. Exactly by this time, 'Caste' had achieved the status of one which is by birth, which was never intended by the establishers of the 'Varnasrama Dharma'. If any proof is needed, please go through the 'Vajrasuuchi Upanishad' which clearly explains what do you mean by 'Varna' and how Varna is acquired. It is certainly not by birth. This 'Casteism' came in handy for the Mughals to first start the principle of divide and rule. They started using to their own favor, the anger prevalent against 'casteism' and hence successfully ruled India even after attacking the very heart of India's philosophy and religion. Then this was carried on magnificently by Britishers. Now, I am astonished to see, the same set of people ruling us by proxies and satellite intellectuals (like the author) within our Country. It is high time that Indians stand up and detest these people who are greatest internal threats..

Again I repeat... If you are an Hindu and feel that injustice is being done to fellow HIndus in the name of 'Caste' please start telling those people the reality of 'Varnasrama Dharma' and say that as on date no one is a real Brahmin/ or upper caste going by the qualities expected of a Brahmin/ upper caste. Reform 'Casteism' like what Mahatma Gandhi (a staunch Hindu) and many other leaders did. If you belong to other religion, I would ask bluntly who are you to comment on 'Sanathan Dharma'? Do you mean your religion is very sublime and without any defects? Why try to get unethical mileage out of this? I definitely have the answer. By exploiting things like 'Casteism' they are serving the cause of spreading their religion. No wonder they are termed as 'intellectuals'??

It is exactly the Varnaashrama, which you so despise, that helped to maintain Hinduism thoughout the invasion. THe more this perfect system declines, the more sinks India in chaos.
We can be thankful to the tradition of Brahmin families who have maintained Veda and Vedic wisdom.
Since 50 yrs. there is official vilification of Brahmins - no wonder that they do not do their profession of Veda teaching. No Kshatriyas to protect the society.
The worse that can happen to a society is to lose the social structure that has protected it since milleniums.
Only to hide their inefficiencies, politicians blame eternally the caste system. Look at other countries who might not have such perfect system: they sink in chaos, USA is cheating the whole world economy as a "model of equality". Millions of americans or other christians sink into poverty. No one can care of them. In varnaashrama, at least, the various varnas held together. Noone could be pushed into unemployment. Everyone knew what to do. And everyone got adequate education from his own family to be succesful in his profession and life.

No matter how much support is provided to the cause, the method does not become correct. It
only facilitates a greater dilemma for those in power, along with a stronger encouragement for self proclaimed spokespersons of the civil society. It only sensitizes the already sensitive situation.

Do you actually believe that Anna Hazare’s draft is the only and the best solution to fight corruption?” “Are you aware that this precedence will be used by numerous factions of the society for numerous demands in the future? (Not all will be for a righteous cause, but with the same incorrect method)” “Does your neighbor or fellow bystander in the protest rally understand the conflicts between the two drafts, and the reasons behind them. Or is he/she merely there to fight corruption under societal momentum?” And lastly, “do all of us realize that the time and effort put behind this, if channeled towards equally important issues persisting within our boundaries, would solve more problems for all of us? (Inflation, oncoming recession, poverty, murder of RTI activists, grain storage shortage, crime against women, healthcare, education e.t.c)”
