UNREASONABLE
by Thomas Philip on Aug 08, 2011 12:26 PM  | Hide replies

Anna Hazare is unreasonable in his insistence on 100% acceding of his demands by the government. In a democratic system opinions of all segments are to be considered.Investing the Lok Pal with unrestricted powers will lead to LokPal over reach and will stifle the growth of democratic institutions.Certainly Anna has brought to the forefront the problem of corruption and let him now leave it to the people's reps.

The same people's representatives who are corrupt?

40% of elected representatives in india have court cases pending against them some of which are of serious nature such as murder, raoe, extortion and dacoity.

You recommend the Government to give him Bharat Ratna on 15.08.2011 and see the result of his agitation on 16.08.2011.

The people who have to perform that task have let the country down, including the PM. There has been no administrative reform, police reform, judicial reform even though it was part of Congress manifesto and PM promised it will be done in 100 days if Congress came to power.

You want to talk about theories. Give some practical solutions.

ANNA TEAM MADE SOME MISTAKES
by Amit on Aug 08, 2011 12:20 PM

first anna shud have done referendum with missed calls to his cell from those who support
then asked for MP's to give in writing their support

those who do not shud have been socially boycotted and asked to resign as they cannot call themselves ppl rep anymore.

Those who oppose shud be pelted with rotten tomatoes and eggs and gobar ....to protest but no stones or hard objects to be used as that can result in serious injury and case of assault.

use election commission to conduct referendum for jan lok pal bill

then nobody like sibal could have questioned lokpal bill

We should FORCE the government.
by Vijay Sahani on Aug 08, 2011 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

Why should "We, the People of India" surrender to 500 bunch of idiots and give up on what is good for the country?

Why should we not demand from the elected representatives what we deserve?

It's this attitude of resigning to our fate instead of standing up and being counted which is the bane of india.

We should FORCE the government to do the right thing in the interest of the country.

Agreed. In that case do something. Stand up and be counted. Let the government understand that things have changed and it is no longer "business as usual".
