corruption and anna hazare
by Ajay Mandadi on Apr 09, 2011 01:02 PM

let us all realise our strength of collective wisdom.it has been our gross indifference to the happenings in the country that has been the core reason.the indifference of the educated classes is the biggest ailment of our country.now there is a rallying point and power of the educated and awakened classes with the active particiption of media has shown us how the political and beauraucracy reacts when there is critical mass in numbers protesting for accountability and action.as rightly said the war has just begun. with so much of inter.connectivity through media and internet, if only 5 to 10 crore population can react on every issue,we can correct a huge number of problems plaguing our indian society.let us realise the power of numbers game which the politicians understand and play. govt. calls for suggestions and objections on many issues, but hardly any people bother about it.no official or administrator ,or judge can afford to ignore when the numbers are huge.let people come under an umbrella and start the process, instead of just waiting for every 5 years to throw out the govt. after lot of damage is done irretreivably. let there be more special courts to expedite cases and punish the guilty.a long as there is no timeframe for delivery of justice.the fear of law is not there. let us push our politicians to perform and not allow them to buy the masses with frivilous freebies(direct corruption) and enjoy power and plunder us at will.the game has to begin. its high time.

Thanks to all fellow Indians and Shri Hazare ji and baba Ramdev
by mukesh dayal on Apr 09, 2011 01:01 PM

this is the time to realize the strength of Aam Adami (public or Janata) who wholeheartedly supported the initiative taken by Shri Anna Hazare ji for speedy implementation of Lokpal Bill.
This is the way to support the movement which is apolitical and for good cause concerning all of us.
This is the beginning of fight against corrupt politicians who think that they are king as we have elected them. they should be taught a lesson that they are public servant.
I hope that panel members from civil society will ensure that all constitutional high positions including prime minister should be included for prosecution in case of corruption charges and LOKPAL can initiate investigation without any govt. permission and Lokpal should have power to invsetigate and prosecute and CBI should be made independent and be brought under the control of LOKPAL.
Politicians have failed to perform for last 42 years. its time for all of us to act and keep a watch on this bill's progress..

Raman can you accept AYATOLLAHS of Corruption??
by jaggu on Apr 09, 2011 12:57 PM

Ayatollah of Corruption is a baby eating monster and it needs a Billion Watt electric shock.

Today all the cites are loosing green zones , 100,000 year old forest sites are dug out in a mere few weeks for mining and real estate.

Bribes are set to become a 300 billion USD industry( being 20% of 1.5 Trillion USD Indian economy) and hurting from all sides.

To say that bribes help to keep development going is a mockery- these corrupt people will sell our entire security to Dawood & ISI any day of the week.

Get Rich without working!!!
by chunjaru on Apr 09, 2011 12:39 PM

If you see the financial growth of the politicians in India, it is thousand and thousand times more than what he was worth before entering politics. A strong LOkpal bill where if the corrupt is a politician or government employee then the law should be devised in such a way that the punishment is double or harsher than that for normal citizens. If Raja is found guilty, the court may punish him for 4-5 years or even less. So with this law, make it 40-50 years..... that will be a good derrerent....our 14 year life sentence is getting smaller and smaller with cases running for 2-3 years and that being included in the final sentence. Life imprisonment should be 75 years for each and every case. well lot said...have to wait and see if anything is made. Now about Anna Hazare, it takes a lot of effort by someone to comeout in the open and fight. The support by the youth and the public is because of inbuilt anger and frustration, you cant suppress that.

Ayotollah
by ifortruth@rediffmail.com on Apr 09, 2011 12:32 PM

Ayotollah is perceived as a derogatory reference primarily due to the world view of Iran mainly created by yankee media. May be he just wrote this to assuage his US based sponsors, to ensure FII money into corrupt cos like reliance & DLF as well as favourable policy changes for walmart n likes

Anti Corruption Ayatollah are better than Corruption Ayatollas.
by aus ant on Apr 09, 2011 12:30 PM

Any time.
B Raman seems to be the latter.
He is smart enough to guage the pulse of the common people of india.
So he has tried some juggling while trying his best to bat for status quo.
