Mr Umashankar, you are what India needs. An honest man! This is also great because when Dalits show how honest and ethical they can be, politicians get confused and dont know what to do. They cannot say that an upper caste is out to defame the DMK etc etc.
Also, this holds hope for the future when accomplished Dalits themselves like Mr Umashankar will get sick and tired of reservations and other issues and demand change that will unify people and reduce reverse discrimination.
Umashankar IAS is one of the most honest officials in India and he is really an asset to our nation.
He has impartially taken the fight against corurption - be it ADMK or DMK Government. He exposed lot of ministers' corruption scandals during 91-95 ADMK rule and many court cases went on for years [even though most culprits escaped using false documents as expected]. He was made vigilance officer by DMK govt and given all support to dig corruption information against former ADMK Govt.
What poor DMK Govt didn't realize is that Umashankar is a crusader against any corrupt man, not just ADMK. He then started bring out corruption in DMK govt in current rule including 700 crore scam on ELCOT industry and then later 300 crore scam by Govt cable corporation [due to earlier fight and later reunion between Marans and Karunanidhis]. All he did was to fight to protect Public money and property. He was harassed and victimized for it.
Finallt, satyamae jayathe! Umashankar suspension is revoked and he will continue his great service.
some raise issue of richness of Karuna's family and SunTV.He has large family and they have their business.Karuna was real entrepreneur in his profession from his early life.He had ups and downs.His family members are wise. Jaya is single woman without family, and do not have any spl talents other than actress.Now she owns KODANADU tea estate about 1000 acres. Each acre is worth Rs2crore each acre. Similarly she owns many with some partners. During MGR rule, when she enters political life for her bread and butter as she was not having source of income to maintain her.after entering political life, she had marketed all government promotions and new positions, employments. She learnt all the ways of making money and dumped money with some. There were some Take-over-Kings in stock market. one Mallaya 2.chabraria 3.Rajarathinam Pillai. Who is this Pillai? Others had business. Young Pillai where got money? Now he is absconder! Any one know about him? Jaya knows him well? All the IAS officers knew very well about political corruptions. They can cut it. But they don't want. Why? No one openly discuss it.

What Supreme court ordered now, he had executed by selling rice at Rs.1perkg through PDS. When rich people get various subsidiaries in billions, why poor should not get peanuts? GOI pays subsidiaries Rs.50 crores for every minute to rich which was exposed in the Hindu by veteran journalist P.Sainath. With prejudice you may have wrong perception, but he does best of his services to the state and poor.

Let me point one issue on Veeranam Project to show what is your interest. Veeranam Project was the best project during that time for the cost of Rs.14 crores in 1975. The same project was forced to execute it on shortage of drinking water after 25 years by Jaya by spending Rs1000 crores! The idiot who raised the issue on quality of cement pipes did not open voice on corruption due to brahaminical affinity. That idiots lobby did not know the engineering system of mfg. All the mfging products can not meet the quality. quality inspection only has to correct them. Only MGR planted corruption all the places and regularised their practices. As I was in govt service during that time, I am competent enough to comment.

1. Distant relatives Kalanidhi and Dayanidhi - they own SUNTV, Papers, Magazines all with party help. Without DMK hep they will be nowhere in a country like India and in a State like Tamil nadu. They now are worth 10000 crores. SUNTV enterprise with 90 million subscribers alone fetches 5000 crores. Daya is in textile now but was IT minister. The only difference is these guys do something and swindle. They have also turned Producers of movies other than owning Cable...ROBOT is 200 crores production cost..peanuts for Kala.
2. Kanimozhi - daughter is building malls, buying property in Chennai main places (just exactly what Jaya and Sasi did)...we hear it all is being done with Raja's help who was involved in Spectrum scam...that means guess how much she is worth? Thats the reason why Karuna kept quiet and did nothing to Raja.
3. Stalin and sons - Stalin pretty much owns Tresury of DMK which is 25000 crores or more with fools backing him. Which makes it actually 100000 crores as he has more avenues to swindle. His son Udayanidhi produces, acts, sings, dances..what not..says TAMIL MOVIES are our family busines

Given the literacy rate and how quickly the State people adapted to IT and Automobile boom, but for these "Swindlers" and with a half capable, sincere politician TN would have become the best State in India easily.
